Whats up man. The philly electronic scene is a lot different then it used to be. Right now, there are only a few places that cater to that kinda music. Lounge 125, Metro Lounge, Shampoo, Fluid, Social Club, Transit, GiGi, a few other places have random nights. I'm with you, in that I'm a big fan of progressive, trance, house, all the good stuff. It's just not as prevalent as some of the other styles compared to a lot of the surrounding cities. We get our share of Top-Tier DJs into town though. PVD was here in October...over the past few months I have seen Infected Mushroom, Sean Tyas, John O'Callahan, Bad Boy Bill, Louie Devito, and a few more. However, the philly scene thrives from it's local producers and DJs, with guys like Tommy Boy, Michael Myers, Nigel Richards, Jay Shock, Moo B, and the Deep Nights crew. They bring dance music all over town to a bunch of the different venues. If you see their names on a flyer, ur gunna have fun. I will say though, that traveling is just part of the region when it comes to clubbing and living it up. I think philly is so cool because we can really go wherever we want to. It's like the cusp of civilization in the north east. hahaha. I mean, NYC is 2 hrs a way, AC is like 1.5 hours away, DC is 3, Baltimore in 2. The shore in 2 hours south and the mountains 2 hours north. There is always SOMETHING going on in this region. Above & Beyond this friday @ Pacha in NYC. I'm there. THATS the kinda event your talkin about. We just dont get them EVERY friday & saturday in philly. But when we do get them... it just makes them even more fun. saturday @ shampoo 12/2 - Tommy Boy is spinnin progressive & Trance with leedeemon & jason evan. edm is definately alive in the city. it's just not the norm like it is in NYC.

god i love the last week of the month. wink ripps it on wed. last trance thursday @ lounge 125 the next night with Tommy Boy & Michael Myers.

Here is what I'm loving about philly: Rundown of the scene from me... (Clubplanet.com Photographer) what's the bigest club -- Shampoo Nightclub for EDM, Chrome for hip-hop. hottess girls -- Club 27, Denim & Dreamz. Shampoo too, but usually younger. best (club) beats..(trance,house, ect...) -- This one is highly debated... But I'll give ya my favorites for EDM. 1. Shampoo Nightclub -- by far the best sound system 2. Fluid -- Josh Wink once a month and a TON of other great DJs 3. Lounge 125. Afterhours, good sound and siKK beats. nicest lounge -- Lounge 125 by far. Hot girls. great DJs. Afterhours. NYC esque. age range for the club you talk about... 21+ shampoo is 18+ but still fun. fashion crowd? Anything Old City. famose people spot? Usually South Street or Delaware Ave. best bar? -- Tikki Bobbs or McFaddens. Both are mad fun. best hiphop spot... -- I'm a big fan of Club 27. Q102 Saturdays with DJ 54. --- Saturdays are ALWAYS packed with women. Dreamz is fun too. best philly resident and where he spins.... depends on what style... --- Trance: DJ Tommy Boy... He is everywhere. haha. --- House: Mark Pappas or the Deep Nights. Fluid & the warehouse. --- Techno: Tattoo Detectives ... Lounge 125 --- DNB,Breaks, House: Jay Shok ... God's Basement, Transit... etc --- Hiphop -- DJ Amaze, DJ 54, DJ Taiga... Shampoo & Club 27 Now again this is all IMO... But I can honestly say that none of those spots will disappoint. The new penthouse bar opens in FEB from what I hear. Thats gunna be the new spot in philly in a few. But, always check out Lounge 125, Fluid, Shampoo, Dreamz, CEBU, i know I am forgetting a few. but thats it for now.

the sundae parties are cool but PDS is the spot to be at... for knowing whats going down in Philly. Plus just a general place to chat it up and meet peopel in the area. I'm on it all the time, and it's how I find out about almost all the events I hit up. **Oh, I'm also the clubplanet.com photographer for philly... so trust me on this one.
