  1. For a better viewing experience, watch the videos on youtube and click on the link "watch in high quality" or watch them on http://www.queenofnewyork.com
  2. I, for one, find these threads quite entertaining. I get a kick out of reading them with my morning coffee. Keep it going!
  3. These past Jr's World are much better than some old ones I had downloaded. Maybe that's because Junior is actually mixing now instead of Jerome. Now I understand why I found many of these Jr's world to be dull and sub-par!! Thank god Jerome is out...
  4. The big fall out between Kevin Aviance and Junior Vasquez last year had a lot to do with Jerome, as Kevin mentioned it publicly on Jonny McGovern's podcast. Now the question is: if Jerome is obviously such a terrible manager, why does Junior stick with him???
  5. Mainframe with Midnight Society http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=149880202
  6. Hiro is ruling the gay nightlife on Sundays. It is a great party in a beautiful and big venue. All the gay kids go there, and it is packed weeks after weeks. That "Room Service" party seems like an ill guided attempt which I don't expect to last very long!
  7. Yes. Work is a great club and the parties are consistently excellent. Junior burned his bridge the one and only time he played there when the club opened, on Thanksgiving Eve 2006. Now that Peter Rauhofer is in charge of the place, I doubt Junior will ever be invited to play there!
  8. Indeed, this is pathetic and frustrating. Not to mention that stupid website that still hasnt launched after 4 months. I don't know why they are doing everything to fuck up whats left of his career. Is it that hard to pull off a decent house music party?
  9. Sol last night was horrible. Junior played some electroish house all night. If that's his "new generation sound", then I'm definitely not part of it. Crowd was sparse and a weird mix of die hard, freaky junior heads (like that girl who spent an hour rocking back and forth on a sofa like she was having an eplileptic attack, holding a teddy bear in her hand, and who was later spotted rolling joints on the dance floor), and dismayed clubbers who were lingering around the dancefloor. They even had 2 go-go girls up dancing above the dancefloor for 5 minutes. Such a disgrace! How did junior let that happen. The music was mindless electro loops, over repetitive beats. He dropped his new mix of "Piece of Me" to an almost empty room around 3. It was totally anti-climatic. The "visual stimulation" were boring computer generated animations that looked liked a bad windows screensaver. They did make the effort to bring in some additional sound equipment, but because of the poor acoustic of the room, the music didnt even sound sharp and crisp. I'm very disappointed with his New Year's day party, and embarrassed I dragged my friend there to start the year.
  10. Yes, the turnout was disappointing. Strangely enough, more people started coming in after 2:30. I would say there were about 100 people in at peak time. The music was good, but the set sounded very much like what he played for Halloween. Overall, a forgettable party. Thats too bad, because I really love the space. I hope his next gig will draw more people in. And we never get to watch any suprise "half-time" performance.
  11. Because it is a party that celebrates the black element that was at the origin of house music. It is organized by a black DJ, and the name is meant to be a provocative statement used in an empowering way... as in: "if you don't like my music, my drums, my drag queens, my culture and my people... well you can Kiss My Black Ass" you got it know?
  12. What an amazing party. DJ Quentin Harris was on point. They featured tons of shows and live performances. The vibe was amazing. I urge you to check out their next party. http://www.queenofnewyork.com/club/kiss_my_black_ass/video/-5522008982843491080 http://www.queenofnewyork.com/club/kiss_my_black_ass/video/-6217934084505553987 http://www.queenofnewyork.com/club/kiss_my_black_ass/video/6692587332341026926 http://www.queenofnewyork.com/club/kiss_my_black_ass/video/8118981796203298940 Lothaire

  14. I'm not offended, I'm thrilled! Go ahead and spread the message... ! Danceshake - I recognize your editorial discretionary rights... It's just that I'm trying to build some traffic and ranking for my site. So, it is always better for me to see links towards my proprietary content rather than just youtube ;-) Besides, the clip from Sol on my site is much better than the one from youtube, IMHO!
  15. Thanks Starscream! Danceshake - I appreciate that you are relaying my contribution to other messageboards, but I would rather you quote my whole post and include the full the reference to my personal site where I post longer videos and picture galleries! Lothaire
