Topic: Junior Vasquez - Generation Next, The Album "Generation Next" is the title of Junior's new album out this month on Tommy Boy, his first in four years. The album serves to showcase some of Junior's favorite remixers as well as up-and-coming producers (or as he says "branches on the tree".) New mixes from Razor 'N Guido (including the previously unreleased floorfiller "Get Up Stand Up"), ATFC, Twisted Dee, Nick Harvey, Fumi, Elliot DeHoyos, M-TRAXX and two original stompers from Junior himself ("I Love Music" and "Insecurities"). Here's the final tracklisting, I apologize I don't have the exact credits yet, not meant to slight anyone: GENERATION NEXT by JUNIOR VASQUEZ 1. Body Rock - Twisted Dee 2. I Love Music - Junior Vasquez 3. Space Dub - Fumix 4. Higher - Sampling Drama Queen 5. On The Drum - Nick Harvey 6. Tribal Massive - Ruben Vega 7. Whispering Prayer - Sin & Doctor Gonzo 8. Freeze - Elliot DeHoyos 9. If You Knew - ATFC 10. Insecurities - Junior Vasquez ft. Maxie J. 11. Sundays at Heaven - Cajjmere Wray 12. Drop A House - Razor 'N Guido 13. My Beat - M-TRAXX 14. Get Up Stand Up - Razor 'N Guido In spending time with him, it becomes clear that Junior considers himself first and foremost a "disc jockey" in the classic sense, presenting records to the people on his dancefloor in a way that is truly one-of-a-kind. This album reflects both that style and Junior's sound right now. Tommy Boy allowed Junior to choose his favorite tracks without licensing restrictions or agendas, and he took ownership of this product in a way that I haven't seen before. I think the final product reflects that attention to detail. Darren Kawa
