Don't really watch wrestling anymore, but I know many here do, so I thought I'd pass this along:

HEADLINE: HOT EDITED BY BEN TODD; WRESTLER BULLDOG IS DEAD AT 39

BODY:

DRUG RAVAGED British wrestler Davey "Boy" Smith has died from a heart attack aged just 39.

The WWF grappler - who fought as British Bulldog - dropped dead on Saturday during a holiday with girlfriend Andrea Hart.

It is thought the 18-stone giant's heart finally gave in after years of drug abuse. Last night a WWF spokesman said: "It's a sad end to a great guy. Our thoughts are with his family."

The Manchester-born wrestler, who lived in Canada, had been hit by a string of troubles since winning the 1992 Intercontinental title.

He beat arch-rival and brother-in-law Bret "The Hitman" Hart before 75,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

But the former fruit and veg delivery boy - who began wrestling in 1979 - had a number of spells in rehab for his addiction to painkilling drugs as well as muscle relaxants and sleeping pills.

The star became addicted to drugs including morphine in a bid to treat the constant pain from a back injury.

He also had a series of family problems culminating in a messy divorce with ex-wife Diana Hart, the sister of girlfriend Andrea, in 2000.

The couple's marriage had broken down so badly by then that Davey was twice arrested and thrown into cells by police after Diana alleged he had threatened to kill her at her home in Calgary, Canada.

He also had to cope with the death of tag-team mate and brother-in-law Owen Hart during a WWF bout in 1999.

Before his death at the weekend Davey seemed to be re-building his life and had kept out of trouble.

But the deadly combination of drugs and the pounding his body took in the ring finally took its toll and he collapsed during a vacation to Invereme, British Columbia.

Last night his family in England were too upset to comment.

Yeah man.....

Davey Boy Smith worked in an era where steroids ran rampant, it wasn't known how bad they were. Add to that the physical abuse he put his body through , its no suprise.

In the past two weeks a lot of wrestlers have died.
