Emmitt
I'm trying to copy/burn some songs off a cd on my computer that is locked....does anyone know how to get around this? I notice a thin line on the backside of the cd, someone once told me to color the line in with a black marker....is this true?thanks
Xpander
yup, that's pretty much about it, use a black marker and draw in the outer edge of the cd...there goes several million dollars down the drain...
rdancer
Did u try musicmatch ? Most CD's are copyrighted...
dirtyepic18
yeah dude, a think black marker line around the edge will screw up the protection... because the "protection" is merely a corrupted track on the outside of the disk that cd players will just skip past, but will confuse computers looking for data.if you black it out, the computer will skip it to, and go straight to the tunes... djrobmurray
Also, if you get a Plextor or Liteon burner, they have this Burnproof technology that ignores the errors that were intentionally put on the disc...a 40x will only run you about 60 bucks. It'll copy games with SafeDisc protection (basically the same thing) as well.
berniec
Nero Burning Rom software also ignores this track. You will get a message when you first start the copy that says 'this disk is copyrighted' and then it will just go and copy it for you:D Nero: http://www.ahead.de/en/index.html#rootBernie
