salc
im looking to buy my first set of turntables...i dont want anything too expensive...i was looking at a set of Gemini tables (XL-300) and a gemini mixer (PMX-500.) They seem pretty inexpensive, but are they good?If anyone has any advice to give i would love to hear it.BTW- where would a good place be to go check out other tables??~SaL C.~
x-phactor
I would not suggest you get the gemini's there shit, you should just save up the money to get technics instead and a ok mixer to start with.

brickhouse
I feel like I'm repeat here but....If you can save for a couple of months to get technics, then do that. If that's out of the question, then the best cheap turntable out there is the Stanton Str8-80. Fairly similar feel to technics, only it's much lighter weight, has slightly stronger startup torque, worse motor torque, and more flutter. Not a horrible table to learn on. However, if you can save for the Techs, you'll save $$ in the long run.

salc
thanks everyone for your help..but where should i look for the technics?
x-phactor
I suggest you do this, goto yahoo.com then to shopping then search for Technics 1200 and find the lowest price for them then print that out then goto guitarcenter to get the techs because its lowest price guranteed there and it saves u from shipping. Just my $.
brickhouse
craigslist.com also has some good deals sometimes, and it's all NYC, so there's no worries about shipping....
