A little something on the HOOLIGANS:

ATOMIC HOOLIGAN

attachment.php?s=&postid=1096710

http://www.atomichooligan.com/

Atomic Hooligan are Matt Welch aged 26 and Terry Ryan (DJ Trence) aged 24.

Based in Watford, Herts, they have been working with break beat since the early 90's.

The "Servin It Up" EP, their First release on Botchit Breaks late last year, thrust them firmly into the Nu Skool breaks scene to stunning effect! With its tough and intelligent production the EP gained support from a multitude of Club and Radio DJ's including Annie Nightingale (Radio 1) and reached no.2 in her essential chart. "Servin It Up" also caught the ear of one of the break beat scenes living Legends, Freddie Fresh.

At present, Atomic Hooligan are working on material for the mans label, and Freddie is interested in doing a remix for the Hooligan Camp. Keep your ears open for that one. Another high profile collaboration was with Botchit and Scarpers very own Jason Sparks, for the track "The Showdown" from "Urban Funk Breaks 2". Combining the two artist's styles was proof that break beat in 2001 could be just as musical and atmospheric as it is rough and dirty, needless to say the track was met with very warm responses from the press and DJ's alike. Jason is not only label mates with the Hooligans, but also neighbours, so watch out for more collaborations and remix action in the near future.

With the stunning new track "In It Together", from "Botchit Breaks 4" and new single "Club Shaker" (released late June) Atomic Hooligan are proving them selves to be a dynamic monster in the break beat scene.

DJ Biography:

As soon as Terry and Matt touch the turntables, they instantly transform into their alter egos,

Chad Outlaw and Rick Stealth. With a ferocious blend of tight mixing, tough tunes and sharp, melodic cutting and scratching, Outlaw and Stealth are guaranteed to rock the crowd and shake any venue to its foundations.

With an upcoming residency at new super club Ocean in Hackney and the Botchit world tour, the Hooligans will be taking their show on the road. Touching down at venues and events across the country such as Raindance at Camden Palace and the Essential Festival in London, along with dates in Rome and America, to finish the year off.

The Hooligans are no strangers to the airwaves either. Having played live sets on Rude Awakening, Gaia Live, Pyrotechnics and providing an hour Botchit and Scarper Mix for Annie Nightingale on Radio 1, the lads are fast becoming the break beat mix show DJ's of choice.

All these elements combined show Atomic Hooligan to be the name to look out for in the months to come!
