The Palestinians are in the place they are today because they've never been accepted by any of the surrounding Arab nations. After each war, not a single Arab nation opened up their borders for these people. Essentially, they've been refugees for over 30 years. The Islamic fundamentalists want to blame Israel and the US for the suffering of the Palestinian people but thats bullshit. The only people they have to blame are themselves. Of course, Araft rejecting Israel's offer at Camp David some years back is also a huge factor. I believe Israel offered about 95% of what the Palestinians were asking for but Arafat said all or nothing. Thats just ridiculous.

A Documented Exposé of Jewish racist Hate Literature

Introduction

The Talmud is Judaism's holiest book (actually a collection of books). Its authority takes precedence over the Old Testament in Judaism. Evidence of this may be found in the Talmud itself, Erubin 21b (Soncino edition): "My son, be more careful in the observance of the words of the Scribes than in the words of the Torah (Old Testament)."

The supremacy of the Talmud over the Bible in the Israeli state may also be seen in the case of the black Ethiopian Jews. Ethiopians are very knowledgeable of the Old Testament. However, their religion is so ancient it pre-dates the Scribes' Talmud, of which the Ethiopians have no knowledge. According to the N.Y. Times of Sept. 29, 1992, p.4:

"The problem is that Ethiopian Jewish tradition goes no further than the Bible or Torah; the later Talmud and other commentaries that form the basis of modern traditions never came their way."

Because they are not traffickers in Talmudic tradition, the black Ethiopian Jews are discriminated against and have been forbidden by the Zionists to perform marriages, funerals and other services in the Israeli state.

Rabbi Joseph D. Soloveitchik is regarded as one of the most influential rabbis of the 20th century, the "unchallenged leader" of Orthodox Judaism and the top international authority on halakha (Jewish religious law). Soloveitchik was responsible for instructing and ordaining more than 2,000 rabbis, "an entire generation" of Jewish leadership.

N.Y. Times religion reporter Ari Goldman described the basis of the rabbi's authority:

"Soloveitchik came from a long line of distinguished Talmudic scholars...Until his early 20s, he devoted himself almost exclusively to the study of the Talmud...He came to Yeshiva University's Elchanan Theological Seminary where he remained the pre-eminent teacher in the Talmud...He held the title of Leib Merkin professor of Talmud...sitting with his feet crossed in front of a table bearing an open volume of the Talmud." (N.Y. Times, April 10, 1993, p. 38).

Nowhere does Goldman refer to Soloveitchik's knowledge of the Bible as the basis for being one of the leading authorities on Jewish law.

The rabbi's credentials are all predicated upon his mastery of the Talmud. Other studies are clearly secondary. Britain's Jewish Chronicle of March 26, 1993 states that in religious school (yeshiva), Jews are "devoted to the Talmud to the exclusion of everything else."

The Talmud Nullifies the Bible

The Jewish Scribes claim the Talmud is partly a collection of traditions Moses gave them in oral form. These had not yet been written down in Jesus' time. Christ condemned the traditions of the Mishnah (early Talmud) and those who taught it (Scribes and Pharisees), because the Talmud nullifies the teachings of the Holy Bible.

Shmuel Safrai in The Literature of the Sages Part One (p.164), points out that in chapters 4 and 5 of the Talmud's Gittin Tractate, the Talmud nullifies the Biblical teaching concerning money-lending: "Hillel decreed the prozbul for the betterment of the world. The prozbul is a legal fiction which allows debts to be collected after the Sabbatical year and it was Hillel's intention thereby to overcome the fear that money-lenders had of losing their money."

The famous warning of Jesus Christ about the tradition of men that voids Scripture (Mark 7:1-13), is in fact, a direct reference to the Talmud, or more specifically, the forerunner of the first part of it, the Mishnah, which existed in oral form during Christ's lifetime, before being committed to writing. Mark chapter 7, from verse one through thirteen, represents Our Lord's pointed condemnation of the Mishnah.

Unfortunately, due to the abysmal ignorance of our day, the widespread "Judeo-Christian" notion is that the Old Testament is the supreme book of Judaism. But this is not so. The Pharisees teach for doctrine the commandments of rabbis, not God.

The Talmudic commentary on the Bible is their supreme law, and not the Bible itself. That commentary does indeed, as Jesus said, void the laws of God, not uphold them. As students of the Talmud, we know this to be true.

Jewish scholar Hyam Maccoby, in Judaism on Trial, quotes Rabbi Yehiel ben Joseph: "Further, without the Talmud, we would not be able to understand passages in the Bible...God has handed this authority to the sages and tradition is a necessity as well as scripture. The Sages also made enactments of their own...anyone who does not study the Talmud cannot understand Scripture."

There is a tiny Jewish sect which makes considerable effort to eschew Talmud and adhere to the Old Testament alone. These are the Karaites, a group which, historically, has been most hated and severely persecuted by orthodox Jewish rabbinate.

To the Mishnah the rabbis later added the Gemara (rabbinical commentaries). Together these comprise the Talmud. There are two versions, the Jerusalem Talmud and the Babylonian Talmud.

The Babylonian Talmud is regarded as the authoritative version: "The authority of the Babylonian Talmud is also greater than that of the Jerusalem Talmud. In cases of doubt the former is decisive." (R.C. Musaph-Andriesse, From Torah to Kabbalah: A Basic Introduction to the Writings of Judaism, p. 40).

This study is based on the Jewish-authorized Babylonian Talmud. We have published herein the authenticated sayings of the Jewish Talmud. Look them up for yourself.

We publish the following irrefutable documentation in the hope of liberating all people, including Jewish people, from the corrosive delusions and racism of this Talmudic hate literature, which is the manual of Orthodox and Hasidic Jews the world over.

The implementation by Jewish supremacists of Talmudic hate literature has caused untold suffering throughout history and now, in occupied Palestine, it is used as a justification for the mass murder of Palestinian civilians. The Talmud specifically defines all who are not Jews as non-human animals.

Some Teachings of the Jewish Talmud

Erubin 21b. Whosoever disobeys the rabbis deserves death and will be punished by being boiled in hot excrement in hell.

Moed Kattan 17a . If a Jew is tempted to do evil he should go to a city where he is not known and do the evil there.

Hitting a Jew is the same as hitting God

Sanhedrin 58b. If a heathen (gentile) hits a Jew, the gentile must be killed.

Insults Against Blessed Mary

Sanhedrin 106a . Says Jesus' mother was a whore: "She who was the descendant of princes and governors played the harlot with carpenters." Also in footnote #2 to Shabbath 104b of the Soncino edition, it is stated that in the "uncensored" text of the Talmud it is written that Jesus mother, "Miriam the hairdresser," had sex with many men.

Gloats over Christ Dying Young

A passage from Sanhedrin 106 gloats over the early age at which Jesus died: "Hast thou heard how old Balaam (Jesus) was?--He replied: It is not actually stated but since it is written, Bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days it follows that he was thirty-three or thirty-four years old."

Horrible Blasphemies Against Jesus Christ

While it is the standard disinformation practice of apologists for the Talmud to deny that it contains any scurrilous references to Jesus Christ, certain Orthodox Jewish organizations are more forthcoming and admit that the Talmud not only mentions Jesus but disparages him (as a sorcerer and a demented sex freak). These orthodox Jewish organizations make this admission perhaps out of the belief that Jewish supremacy is so well-established in the modern world that they need not concern themselves with adverse reactions.

For example, on the website of the Orthodox Jewish Hasidic Lubavitch group--one of the largest in the world--we find the following statement, complete with Talmudic citations:

"The Talmud (Babylonian edition) records other sins of 'Jesus the Nazarene':

1) He and his disciples practiced sorcery and black magic, led Jews astray into idolatry, and were sponsored by foreign, gentile powers for the purpose of subverting Jewish worship (Sanhedrin 43a).

2) He was sexually immoral, worshipped statues of stone (a brick is mentioned), was cut off from the Jewish people for his wickedness, and refused to repent (Sanhedrin 107b; Sotah 47a).

3) He learned witchcraft in Egypt and, to perform miracles, used procedures that involved cutting his flesh, which is also explicitly banned in the Bible (Shabbos 104b).

Let us examine further some of these anti-Christ Talmud passages:

Gittin 57a. Says Jesus is in hell, being boiled in "hot excrement."

Sanhedrin 43a. Says Jesus ("Yeshu" and in Soncino footnote #6, Yeshu "the Nazarene") was executed because he practiced sorcery: "It is taught that on the eve of Passover Jesus was hung, and forty days before this the proclamation was made: Jesus is to be stoned to death because he has practiced sorcery and has lured the people to idolatry...He was an enticer and of such thou shalt not pity or condone."

Kallah 51a."The elders were once sitting in the gate when two young lads passed by; one covered his head and the other uncovered his head. Of him who uncovered his head Rabbi Eliezer remarked that he is a bastard. Rabbi Joshua remarked that he is the son of a niddah (a child conceived during a woman's menstrual period). Rabbi Akiba said that he is both a bastard and a son of a niddah.

"They said, 'What induced you to contradict the opinion of your colleagues?' He replied, "I will prove it concerning him." He went to the lad's mother and found her sitting in the market selling beans.

"He said to her, 'My daughter, if you will answer the question I will put to you, I will bring you to the world to come.' (eternal life). She said to him, 'Swear it to me.'

"Rabbi Akiba, taking the oath with his lips but annulling it in his heart, said to her, 'What is the status of your son?' She replied, 'When I entered the bridal chamber I was niddah (menstruating) and my husband kept away from me; but my best man had intercourse with me and this son was born to me.' Consequently the child was both a bastard and the son of a niddah.

"It was declared, '..Blessed be the God of Israel Who Revealed His Secret to Rabbi Akiba..."

In addition to the theme that God rewards clever liars, the preceding Talmud discussion is actually about Jesus Christ (the bastard boy who "uncovered his head" and was conceived in the filth of menstruation). The boy's adulterous mother in this Talmud story is the mother of Christ, Blessed Mary (called Miriam and sometimes, Miriam the hairdresser, in the Talmud).

"The Editio Princeps of the complete Code of Talmudic Law, Maimonides' Mishneh Torah -- replete not only with the most offensive precepts against all Gentiles but also with explicit attacks on Christianity and on Jesus (after whose name the author adds piously, 'May the name of the wicked perish')... --Dr. Israel Shahak, Jewish History, Jewish Religion, p. 21.

"The Talmud contains a few explicit references to Jesus...These references are certainly not complimentary...There seems little doubt that the account of the execution of Jesus on the eve of Passover does refer to the Christian Jesus...The passage in which Jesus' punishment in hell is described also seems to refer to the Christian Jesus. It is a piece of anti-Christian polemic dating from the post-70 CE period..." --Hyam Maccoby, Judaism on Trial, pp. 26-27.

"According to the Talmud, Jesus was executed by a proper rabbinical court for idolatry, inciting other Jews to idolatry, and contempt of rabbinical authority. All classical Jewish sources which mention his execution are quite happy to take responsibility for it; in the talmudic account the Romans are not even mentioned.

"The more popular accounts--which were nevertheless taken quite seriously--such as the notorious Toldot Yeshu are even worse, for in addition to the above crimes they accuse him of witchcraft. The very name 'Jesus' was for Jews a symbol of all that is abominable and this popular tradition still persists...

"The Hebrew form of the name Jesus--Yeshu--was interpreted as an acronym for the curse, 'may his name and memory be wiped out,' which is used as an extreme form of abuse. In fact, anti-zionist Orthodox Jews (such as Neturey Qarta) sometimes refer to Herzl as 'Herzl Jesus' and I have found in religious zionist writings expressions such as "Nasser Jesus" and more recently 'Arafat Jesus." --Dr. Israel Shahak, Jewish History, Jewish Religion, pp. 97- 98, 118.

Talmud Attacks Christians and Christian Books

Rosh Hashanah 17a. Christians (minnim) and others who reject the Talmud will go to hell and be punished there for all generations.

Sanhedrin 90a. Those who read the New Testament ("uncanonical books") will have no portion in the world to come.

Shabbath 116a. Jews must destroy the books of the Christians, i.e. the New Testament.

Dr. Israel Shahak of Hebrew University reports that the Israelis burned hundreds of New Testament Bibles in occupied Palestine on March 23, 1980 (cf. Jewish History, Jewish Religion, p. 21).

Sick and Insane Teachings of the Talmud

Gittin 69a . To heal his flesh a Jew should take dust that lies within the shadow of an outdoor toilet, mix with honey and eat it.

Shabbath 41a. The law regulating the rule for how to urinate in a holy way is given.

Yebamoth 63a. States that Adam had sexual intercourse with all the animals in the Garden of Eden.

Yebamoth 63a. Declares that agriculture is the lowest of occupations.

Sanhedrin 55b. A Jew may marry a three year old girl (specifically, three years "and a day" old).

Sanhedrin 54b. A Jew may have sex with a child as long as the child is less than nine years old.

Kethuboth 11b. "When a grown-up man has intercourse with a little girl it is nothing."

Yebamoth 59b. A woman who had intercourse with a beast is eligible to marry a Jewish priest. A woman who has sex with a demon is also eligible to marry a Jewish priest.

Abodah Zarah 17a. States that there is not a whore in the world that the Talmudic sage Rabbi Eleazar has not had sex with.

Hagigah 27a. States that no rabbi can ever go to hell.

Baba Mezia 59b. A rabbi debates God and defeats Him. God admits the rabbi won the debate.

Gittin 70a. The Rabbis taught: "On coming from a privy (outdoor toilet) a man should not have sexual intercourse till he has waited long enough to walk half a mile, because the demon of the privy is with him for that time; if he does, his children will be epileptic."

Gittin 69b. To heal the disease of pleurisy ("catarrh") a Jew should "take the excrement of a white dog and knead it with balsam, but if he can possibly avoid it he should not eat the dog's excrement as it loosens the limbs."

Pesahim 111a. It is forbidden for dogs, women or palm trees to pass between two men, nor may others walk between dogs, women or palm trees. Special dangers are involved if the women are menstruating or sitting at a crossroads.

Menahoth 43b-44a. A Jewish man is obligated to say the following prayer every day: Thank you God for not making me a gentile, a woman or a slave.

Tall Tales of a Roman Holocaust

Here are two early "Holocaust" tales from the Talmud: Gittin 57b. Claims that four billion Jews were killed by the Romans in the city of Bethar. Gittin 58a claims that 16 million Jewish children were wrapped in scrolls and burned alive by the Romans. (Ancient demography indicates that there were not 16 million Jews in the entire world at that time, much less 16 million Jewish children or four billion Jews).

A Revealing Admission

Abodah Zarah 70a. The question was asked of the rabbi whether wine stolen in Pumbeditha might be used or if it was defiled, due to the fact that the thieves might have been gentiles (a gentile touching wine would make the wine unclean). The rabbi says not to worry, that the wine is permissible for Jewish use because the majority of the thieves in Pumbeditha, the place where the wine was stolen, are Jews. (Also cf. Gemara Rosh Hashanah 25b).

Pharisaic Rituals

Erubin 21b. "Rabbi Akiba said to him, "Give me some water to wash my hands."

"It will not suffice for drinking," the other complained, "will it suffice for washing your hands?"

"What can I do?' the former replied, "when for neglecting the words of the Rabbis one deserves death? It is better that I myself should die than that I transgress against the opinion of my colleagues." [This is the ritual hand washing condemned by Jesus in Matthew 15: 1-9].

Genocide Advocated by the Talmud

Minor Tractates. Soferim 15, Rule 10. This is the saying of Rabbi Simon ben Yohai: Tob shebe goyyim harog ("Even the best of the gentiles should all be killed").

This passage is from the original Hebrew of the Babylonian Talmud as quoted by the 1907 Jewish Encyclopedia, published by Funk and Wagnalls and compiled by Isidore Singer, under the entry, "Gentile," (p. 617).

This original Talmud passage has been concealed in translation. The Jewish Encyclopedia states that, "...in the various versions the reading has been altered, 'The best among the Egyptians' being generally substituted." In the Soncino version: "the best of the heathens" (Minor Tractates, Soferim 41a-b].

Israelis annually take part in a national pilgrimage to the grave of Simon ben Yohai, to honor this rabbi who advocated the extermination of non-Jews. (Jewish Press, June 9, 1989, p. 56B).

On Purim, Feb. 25, 1994, Israeli army officer Baruch Goldstein, an orthodox Jew from Brooklyn, massacred 40 Palestinian civilians, including children, while they knelt in prayer in a mosque. Goldstein was a disciple of the late Brooklyn Rabbi Meir Kahane, who told CBS News that his teaching that Arabs are "dogs" is derived "from the Talmud." (CBS 60 Minutes, "Kahane").

University of Jerusalem Prof. Ehud Sprinzak described Kahane and Goldstein's philosophy: "They believe it's God's will that they commit violence against goyim, a Hebrew term for non-Jews." (NY Daily News, Feb. 26, 1994, p. 5).

Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburg declared, "We have to recognize that Jewish blood and the blood of a goy are not the same thing." (NY Times, June 6, 1989, p.5).

Rabbi Yaacov Perrin said, "One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail." (NY Daily News, Feb. 28, 1994, p.6).

Talmudic Doctrine: Non-Jews are not Human

The Talmud specifically defines all who are not Jews as non-human animals, and specifically dehumanizes gentiles as not being descendants of Adam. We will now list some of the Talmud passages which relate to this topic.

Kerithoth 6b: Uses of Oil of Anointing. Our Rabbis have taught: He who pours the oil of anointing over cattle or vessels is not guilty; if over gentiles [Hebrew: goyim] or the dead, he is not guilty. The law relating to cattle and vessels is right, for it is written: "Upon the flesh of man [Hebrew: Adam] shall it not be poured [Exodus 30:32]"; and cattle and vessels are not man [Adam].

"Also with regard to the dead, [it is plausible] that he is exempt, since after death one is called corpse and not a man [Adam]. But why is one exempt in the case of gentiles [goyim]; are they not in the category of man [Adam]? No, it is written: "And ye my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are man" [Adam] (Ezekiel 34:31): Ye are called man [Adam] but gentiles [goyim] are not called man [Adam]."

In the preceding passage, the Rabbis are discussing the Mosaic law which forbids applying the holy oil to men. In the discussion, the rabbis state that it is not a sin to apply the holy oil to gentiles, since gentiles are not human beings (literally, Adam).

Yebamoth 61a: "It was taught: And so did R. Simeon ben Yohai state [61a] that the graves of gentiles [goyim] do not impart levitical uncleanness by an ohel [standing or bending over a grave], for it is said, 'And ye my sheep the sheep of my pasture, are men [Adam]', [Ezekiel 34:31]; you are called men [Adam] but the idolaters are not called men [Adam]."

The Mosaic law states that touching a human corpse or grave imparts uncleanness to those who touch it. But the Talmud here teaches that if a Jew touches the grave of a gentile, it does not make him unclean, since gentiles are not human (literally, Adam).

Baba Mezia 114b: "Said he [Rabbah] to him: Art thou not a priest: why then dost thou stand in a cemetery? He replied: Has the Master not studied the laws of purity? For it has been taught: R. Simeon ben Yohai said: The graves of gentiles [goyim] do not defile, for it is written, 'And ye my flock, the flock of my pastures, are men [Adam]' (Ezekiel 34:31); only ye are designated men [Adam]."

"A Jewish priest was standing in a graveyard. When asked why he was standing there in apparent violation of the Mosaic law, he replied that it was permissible, since the law only prohibits Jews from coming into contact with the graves of humans [Adamites], and he was standing in a gentile graveyard."

Since the supposed Biblical proof text (Ezekiel 34:31) repeatedly cited in the above three Talmud passages in reality does not prove that only Jews are human, it is evident that the Talmudic sages who asserted the preceding absurdities about gentiles were already anti-gentile racists or ideologues who, in desperate search of some proof of their position, distorted an Old Testament passage in order to justify their bigotry.

Berakoth 58a: "R. Shila administered lashes to a man who had intercourse with an Egyptian woman. The man went and informed against him to the Government, saying: There is a man among the Jews who passes judgment without the permission of the Government. An official was sent to [summon] him. When he came he was asked: Why did you flog that man? He replied: Because he had intercourse with a she-ass.

"They said to him: Have you witnesses? He replied: I have. Elijah thereupon came in the form of a man and gave evidence. They said to him: If that is the case he ought to be put to death! He replied: Since we have been exiled from our land, we have no authority to put to death; do with him what you please.

"While they were considering his case, R. Shila exclaimed, 'Thine, Oh Lord, is the greatness and the power' [i Chronicles 29:11] What are you saying? they asked him. He replied: What I am saying is this: Blessed is the All-Merciful who has made the earthly royalty on the model of the heavenly, and has invested you with dominion, and made you lovers of justice.

"They said to him: Are you so solicitous for the honor of the Government? They handed him a staff and said to him: You may act as judge. When he went out that man said to him: Does the All-Merciful perform miracles for liars?

"He replied: Wretch! Are they not called asses? For it is written: 'Whose flesh is as the flesh of asses' [Ezekiel 23:20].

"He noticed that the man was about to inform them that he had called them asses. He said: This man is a persecutor, and the Torah has said: If a man comes to kill you, rise early and kill him first. So he struck him with the staff and killed him. He then said: Since a miracle has been wrought for me through this verse, I will expound it."

Our apologies for subjecting the reader to the preceding lengthy, Talmudic drivel, but it is best to include all of it to demonstrate its depravity. In addition to having Elijah float down from heaven to deceive the gentile court, the Talmud teaches that gentiles are actually animals, hence Rabbi Shila (and Elijah) did not really lie at all. It also teaches that anyone (even a Jewish man) who reveals this Talmudic teaching about non-Jews deserves death, since revealing it makes gentiles wrathful and causes the repression of Judaism.

The Talmudic citation of this scripture from Ezekiel as a "proof-text" is specious, since the passage does not prove that gentiles are animals. The passage from Ezekiel only says that some Egyptians had large genital organs and copious emissions. This does not in any way prove or even connote that the Egyptians being referred to in the Bible were considered animals. Once again, the Talmud has falsified the Bible by means of distorted interpretation. Other Talmud passages which expound on Ezekiel 23:20 in this racist fashion are: Arakin 19b, Berakoth 25b, Niddah 45a, Shabbath 150a, Yebamoth 98a. Moreover, the original text of Sanhedrin 37a applies God's approval only to the saving of Jewish lives (cf. the Hesronot Ha-shas, Cracow, 1894).

Moses Maimonides: Advocate of Extermination

We will now examine the post-Talmudic commentator Rambam (Moses Maimonides). This revered "sage" taught that Christians should be exterminated. He has the highest stature in Judaism:

"Moses Maimonides is considered the greatest codifier and philosopher in Jewish history. He is often affectionately referred to as the Rambam, after the initials of his name and title, Rabenu Moshe Ben Maimon, "Our Rabbi, Moses son of Maimon." [Maimonides' Principles, edited by Aryeh Kaplan, Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America,, p. 3].

Here is what Maimonides (Rambam) taught concerning saving people's lives, especially concerning saving the lives of gentiles and Christians, or even Jews who dared to deny the "divine inspiration" of the Talmud:

Maimonides, Mishnah Torah, (Moznaim Publishing Corporation, Brooklyn, New York, 1990, Chapter 10, English Translation), p. 184: "Accordingly, if we see an idolater (gentile) being swept away or drowning in the river, we should not help him. If we see that his life is in danger, we should not save him." The Hebrew text of the Feldheim 1981 edition of Mishnah Torah states this as well.

Immediately after Maimonides' admonition that it is a duty for Jews not to save a drowning or perishing gentile, he informs us of the Talmudic duty of Jews towards Christians, and also towards Jews who deny the Talmud. Maimonides, Mishnah Torah, (Chapter 10), p. 184:

"It is a mitzvah [religious duty], however, to eradicate Jewish traitors, minnim, and apikorsim, and to cause them to descend to the pit of destruction, since they cause difficulty to the Jews and sway the people away from God, as did Jesus of Nazareth and his students, and Tzadok, Baithos, and their students. May the name of the wicked rot."

The Jewish publisher's commentary accompanying the preceding statement of Maimonides states that Jesus was an example of a min (plural: minnim).

The commentary also states that the students of Tzadok were defined as those Jews who deny the truth of the Talmud and who uphold only the written law (i.e. the Old Testament).

According to Maimonides' Principles, p. 5, Maimonides "spent twelve years extracting every decision and law from the Talmud, and arranging them all into 14 systematic volumes. The work was finally completed in 1180, and was called Mishnah Torah, or "Code of the Torah."

Maimonides taught in another part of the Mishnah Torah that gentiles are not human: "Man alone, and not vessels, can contract uncleanness by carriage. ...The corpse of a gentile, however, does not convey uncleanness by overshadowing. ...a gentile does not contract corpse uncleanness; and if a gentile touches, carries, or overshadows a corpse he is as one who did not touch it.

"To what is this like? It is like a beast which touches a corpse or overshadows it. And this applies not to corpse uncleanness only but to any other kind of uncleanness: neither gentiles nor cattle are susceptible to any uncleanness." (The Code of Maimonides, vol. 10, translated by Herbert Danby, Yale University Press, New Haven, 1954, pp. 8-9).

The Schindler's List Quote

The Talmud (i.e., the Babylonian Talmud) text of Sanhedrin 37a restricts the duty to save life to saving only Jewish lives.

The book on Hebrew censorship, written by Jews themselves (Hesronot Ha-shas), notes that some Talmud texts use the universalist phrase:

"Whoever destroys the life of a single human being...it is as if he had destroyed an entire world; and whoever preserves the life of a single human being ...it is as if he had preserved an entire world."

However, Hesronot Ha-shas points out that these are not the authentic words of the original Talmud.

In other words, the preceding universalist rendering is not the authentic text of the Talmud and thus, for example, this universalist version which Steven Spielberg in his famous movie, Schindler's List attributed to the Talmud (and which became the motto of the movie on posters and in advertisements), is a hoax and constitutes propaganda intended to give a humanistic gloss to a Talmud which is, in its essence, racist and chauvinist hate literature.

In the authentic, original Talmud text it states that "whoever preserves a single soul of Israel, it is as if he had preserved an entire world" (emphasis supplied). The authentic Talmud text sanctions only the saving of Jewish lives.

Jewish Deception and Dissimulation

The response of the orthodox rabbis to documentation regarding the racism and hatred in the Talmud is simply to brazenly lie, in keeping with the Talmud's Baba Kamma 113a which states that Jews may use lies ("subterfuges") to circumvent a Gentile.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center, a multi-million dollar rabbinical propaganda center dispatched Rabbi Daniel Landes in 1995 to deny that the Talmud dehumanizes non-Jews. "This is utter rot," he said. His proof? Why, his word, of course.

This lying to "circumvent a gentile" has a long patrimony in Judaism. Take for example the 13th century Talmud debate in Paris between Nicholas of Donin, a Jewish convert to Christianity, whom Hyam Maccoby admits had "a good knowledge of the Talmud" (Judaism on Trial, p.26) and Rabbi Yehiel. Yehiel was not under threat of death, bodily injury, imprisonment or fine. Yet he brazenly lied during the course of the debate.

When asked by Donin whether there were attacks on Jesus in the Talmud, Yehiel denied that there were any. Donin, a Hebrew scholar, knew this to be false. Hyam Maccoby, a 20th century Jewish commentator on the debate, defends Rabbi Yehiel's lying in this way:

"The question may be asked, however, whether Yehiel really believed that Jesus was not mentioned in the Talmud, or whether he put this forward as an ingenious ploy in the desperate situation in which he found himself...It would certainly have been pardonable of the rabbi to attempt some condonation in which he did not fully believe, to prevent such tyannical proceedings by one religious culture against another." (Judaism on Trial, p. 28).

This is how Jewish denial of the existence of hateful Talmud texts is justified to this day. A fanciful word for Jewish lying is conjured ("condonation") and deemed "pardonable," while any scrutiny of Jewish holy books by Christian investigators is characterized as a "tyrannical proceeding." Of course Jewish attacks on the New Testament do not qualify as a "tyrannical proceeding." Only Christian criticism of the Talmud qualifies as tyrannical and the response of the Jewish apologists is to lie.

(This is certainly not true of all Jewish people. Dr. Israel Shahak of Hebrew University has written an entire book --Jewish History, Jewish Relgion -- which documents the anti-gentile and anti-Christian polemic in sacred Jewish writings such as the Talmud).

However much the ADL or Wiesenthal Center lie and deny, the fact is, in this writing, we have furnished the reader with documentation direct from the original Talmudic texts, as well as from the writings of the Jews' own "greatest" Talmud authority, Moses Maimonides.

In 1994, Rabbi Tzvi Marx, director of Applied Education at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, made a remarkable admission concerning how Jews in the past have issued two sets of texts: the authentic Talmudic texts with which they instruct their own youth in the Talmud schools (kollel) and "censured and amended" versions which they disseminate to the gullible goyim (non-Jews) for public consumption.

Rabbi Marx states that in the version of Maimonides' teachings published for public consumption, Maimonides is made to say that whoever kills a human being transgresses the law.

But, Rabbi Marx points out "...this only reflects the censured and amended printed text, whereas the original manuscripts have it only as "whoever kills an Israelite." (Tikkun: A Bi-Monthly Jewish Critique, May-June, 1994).

The Jewish book, Hesronot Ha-shas ("that which is removed from the Talmud," cf. William Popper, The Censorship of Hebrew Books, p. 59), is important in this regard.

Hesronot Ha-shas was reprinted in 1989 by Sinai Publishing of Tel-Aviv. Hesronot Ha-shas is valuable because it lists both the original Talmud texts that were later changed or omitted, and the falsified texts nowadays being cited for gentile consumption as authentic.

Popper (pp. 58-59), states: "It was not always that long passages...were censored...but often single words alone were omitted; ...Often, in these cases, another method of correction was used in place of omission--substitution."

For example, the translators of the English Soncino version of the Talmud sometimes translate the Hebrew word goyim (gentiles) under any number of disguise words such as "heathen, Cuthean, Egyptian, idolater" etc. But these are actually references to gentiles (all non-Jews). In footnote 5 of the Soncino edition Talmud it is stated: "Cuthean (Samaritan) was here substituted for the original goy..."

It is the standard disinformation practice of the Pharisees to deny the existence of the racist Talmudic passages we have cited, in order to claim that such passages are the "fabrications of anti-Semites."

In 1994, the 80 year old Dowager Lady Jane Birdwood was arrested and prosecuted in a criminal court in London, England for the "crime" of publishing in her pamphlet, The Longest Hatred, the truthful statement that the Talmud contains anti-gentile and anti-Christian passages. In the course of her thought-crime trial, which was ignored by the U.S. media, a rabbi was called as a prosecution witness. The rabbi proceeded to flatly deny that the Talmud contained anti-gentile or anti-Christian passages and on the basis of the rabbi's "prestige," the old woman was sentenced to three months in jail and fined the equivalent of $1,000.

Dr. Israel Shahak, in his work, Jewish History, Jewish Religion and Bernard Pick in Jesus in the Talmud, (pp. 57; 105-106), have both confirmed the hate and racism contained in the Talmud. Those Jews who deny the actual contents of the Talmud are liars.

"Judeo-Christian" Response to the Talmud

Neither the modern popes or the modern heads of Protestantism, have ever insisted that the rabbis of Judaism repudiate or condemn the racism in the Talmud or the murderous hate for Christians and gentiles expressed within it. On the contrary, the heads of Churchianity have urged the followers of Christ to obey, honor and support the followers of the Talmud. Therefore, it should be obvious that these Catholic and Protestant leaders are the worst betrayers of Jesus Christ on earth today. (Cf. Matthew 23:13-15; I Thess. 2:14-16; Titus 1:14; Luke 3:8-9; Rev. 3:9).

Non-Jews are "Supernal Refuse"

Moreover, not only Christians but non-Christians of all races are regarded as "supernal refuse" (garbage) by Talmud teachers such as the founder of Habad-Lubavitch, Rabbi Shneur Zalman.

This was analyzed in the Jewish magazine, New Republic: "...there are some powerful ironies in Habad's new messianic universalism, in its mission to the gentiles; and surely the most unpleasant of them concerns Habad's otherwise undisguised and even racial contempt for the goyim.

"...medieval Jewish theologians--most notably the poet and philosopher Judah Ha-Levi in twelfth-century Spain and the mystic Judah Loewe in sixteenth-century Prague--sought to define the Jewish distinction racially rather than spiritually...this...view, according to which there is something innately superior about the Jews, was rehabilitated in its most extreme form by Shneur Zalman of Lyady. The founder of Lubavitcher Hasidism taught that there is a difference of essence between the souls of Jews and the souls of gentiles, that only in the Jewish soul does there reside a spark of divine vitality.

"As for the goyim...Zalman's attitude (was): 'Gentile souls are of a completely different and inferior order. They are totally evil, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.'

"Consequently, references to gentiles in Rabbi Shneur Zalman's teachings are invariably invidious. Their (non-Jews) material abundance derives from supernal refuse. Indeed, they themselves derive from refuse, which is why they are more numerous than the Jews, as the pieces of chaff outnumber the kernels...All Jews were innately good, all gentiles innately evil.

"...Moreover, this characterization of gentiles as being inherently evil, as being spiritually as well as biologically inferior to Jews, has not in any way been revised in later Habad writing." --The New Republic, May 4, 1992. U.S. Government Lays Groundwork for Talmudic Courts

The government under Reagan, Bush and Clinton, has provided, under the euphemism of education (for example, House Joint Resolution 173 and Public Law 102-14), a groundwork for the establishment of 'courts of justice' to be governed by disciples of Shneur Zalman's Habad successor, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. These courts are to be convened allegedly under the "Noachide Laws" (proscriptions against idolatry based on the covenant with Noah). But under the Talmudic interpretation of the Noachide Laws, the worship of Jesus is to be forbidden, since such worship is regarded as idolatry (cf. Alan Unterman, Dictionary of Jewish Lore and Legend, p. 148); all non-Jews in the U.S. would have the legal status of ger toshav (resident alien).

American taxpayers' subsidy of the so-called "U.S. Holocaust Museum" in Washington, D.C., is yet another indicator of the gradual establishment of a state religion in the U.S. This "holocaust museum" excludes any reference to holocausts perpetrated by Jewish Communists against Christians in Russia and Eastern Europe, from 1917 onward.

The focus of the 'museum' is almost entirely on Jewish suffering. Holocausts perpetrated by Zionist Jews against Arabs in Lebanon in 1982 and in Palestine since 1948 are nowhere to be found in the exhibits of the "Holocaust Museum," which functions more like a synagogue than a repository of objective historical information.

Jewish Law Requires Christians to be Executed

Israeli "Torah scholars" have ruled that:

"The Torah maintains that the righteous of all nations have a place in the World to Come. But not all religious Gentiles earn eternal life by virtue of observing their religion...And while the Christians do generally accept the Hebrew Bible as truly from God, many of them (those who accept the so-called divinity of Jesus) are idolaters according to the Torah, punishable by death, and certainly will not enjoy the World to Come."

It is not for nothing that the authoritative edition of the Talmud is known as the Babylonian Talmud. As Christians misled by their Judaizing preachers and popes are increasingly consulting Jewish rabbinical sources for a "pure" understanding of the Old Testament, they are unknowingly consulting the occult.

Judaism is the religion of the Pharisees and the patrimony of Babylon, from whence the Talmudic and Kabbalistic traditions of Judaism ultimately derive. Orthodox Judaism's other sacred book, the Kabbalah, is filled with astrological teachings, fortune-telling, gematria, necromancy and demonology.

The photograph on the cover of this publication's hard copy version shows an orthodox Jew performing a ritual to transfer his sins to the chicken he is waving over his head. This is pernicious superstition.

Furthermore, the Israeli "Star of David," is actually nothing of the kind, but rather an occult hexagram, a yantra of the androgyne, which became associated with the Khazars in 14th century Bohemia. (The misnamed "state of Israel" was founded in 1948 in an alliance between Jewish Communists and atheistic Zionists, with crucial U.N. recognition provided by Soviet Communist dictator Joseph Stalin).

Christians might find it eye-opening to visit a Hasidic Jewish area during "Purim" and observe the grotesque, Halloween-like cavorting. Though the Purim festival uses the Book of Esther as its supposed proof-text, in practice the Jewish celebration of Purim is little more than a Bacchanal (cf. "Superstitions said legacy from Jewish ancestors," Canadian Jewish News, Nov. 16, 1989, p. 58).

Orthodox rabbis place curses, cast spells and imagine they have powers greater than God, derived from their study of the Sefer Yezriah, (a book of Kabbalistic magic). Christians are trafficking in Babylonian paganism when they defer to the rabbis of Judaism.

After Rashid Ali and Husseini overthrew the Iraqi goverment in 1941. They installed a Nazi puppet goverment. The first thing Rashid Ali and Husseini did, was order a pogram of Jews, where 187 Jews were massacred.

This is exactly what would have happened, if the Arabs would have won the 48 war. This is what Israel's army prevented in 48.

On June 1st and June 2nd of 1941, hundreds of Iraqi Arabs brutally attacked Iraqi Jews in the towns of Al Rusafa and Abu Sifyan. Jews were killed randomly, women and children were raped in front of their relatives, babies crushed, houses set on fire, looting was everywhere.

On June 2,1941: Policemen, soldiers and slum dwellers from Al Karkh entered the scene, and participated in the killing and the looting everywhere. Reports vary official Iraqi reports mention 187 killed,

2 months later, the British overthrew the Nazi backed Iraqi goverment and the Mufti fled to Berlin, where he would hold his first of several meetings with Adolf Hitler. At this meeting, the Mufti was reported to have dissuaded Hitler from considering the deportation of the Jews to Palestine. Instead, the Mufti advocated and even possibly suggested what came to be known as the Final Solution against the Jews. In 1942, the Mufti would intervene and stop the Nazis from exchanging 10,000 Jewish children for Nazi POW´s.

The Mufti´s activities in Nazi Germany and occupied Europe would set the stage for today´s Islamic terrorism. On April 25th, 1941, the Nazis sent the Mufti to Nazi-occupied Bosnia, where he assumed the title "Protector of Islam." On February 10, 1943, Hitler ordered the creation of the Nazi SS Division Hanzar and approximately 100,000 Bosnian Muslims volunteered. The Mufti, serving as chief administrator, referred to these Nazi-Muslim brigades as "the cream of Islam."

The Hanzars, deriving their name from the type of dagger carried by Ottoman officers, played an active role in the extermination of Christians and Jews in the Balkans. The Mufti attempted to implement the Nazi "Pejani Plan" which called for the extermination of the Christian Serbs and which the Nazis eventually abandoned. All in all, the Bosnian Muslim Hanzars assisted in the extermination of approximately 200,000 Christian Serbs, 40,000 Gypsies and 22,000 Jews.

Dieter Visllzni, who was Eichmann's assistant, said at the Nuremberg Trials, Hajj Amin Al Husseini the Palestinian leader of WW2, had a part in the decision to liquidate the Jews of Europe." The Mufti had repeatedly suggested to Hitler, Himmler and Eichman, that the extermination of European Jewry was the best way to help the Arabs. Vislizni said, according to the 5 May 1946 written deposition of engineer André Steiner from Bratislava, submitted to the Nuremberg Tribunal after having been read and confirmed by Vislizni himself: "The Mufti was one of the initiators of the systematic extermination of European Jewry and had been a collaborator and advisor of Eichmann and Himmler in the execution of this plan.

Vislizni's July 26 1946 Nuremberg testimony says, accompanied by Eichmann, Husseini had visited the gas chambers of Auschwitz." Whose the instigators of terror.

The "cycle" in practice works like this: Palestinian terrorists conduct random, murderous attacks targeting Israeli civilians. Palestinian terrorists attack Israeli woman and children in buses, shopping malls, cafe's, restaurants, disco's, sbarro's pizzeria's, Bar Mitzvah's, shoe stores and schools. The Israeli military pursues strikes against military or terrorist targets in response, attempting to disable terrorist networks that Arafat won't stop himself, since he is no different from them.

In the one case, Palestinian terrorists set out to murder as many Israeli civilians as possible. Israel responds to these terrorists acts, by targeting Palestinian terrorists who sponsor these murderous acts against Israeli civilians. The Palestinians then hide these terrorists in civilian areas, wanting Israel to fire back, so civilians are killed, so this looks good on TV.

The attempt to draw a moral equivalence between the Palestinians' deliberate attempts to kill innocents and inspire terror and Israel's military responses to these attacks is not far different from describing the U.S. airstrikes on Afghanistan as "perpetuating the cycle of violence between al Qaeda and the United States." There is no equivalence between terrorist attacks designed to maximize the deaths of innocents and military strikes designed to limit the ability of terrorists to carry out future strikes.

Terrorism is the DELIBERATE targeting of innocent civilians and noncombatants for political or religious purposes.

The Israelis do not deliberately target Palestinian civilians/non combatants. Israelis Defence Forces only target Palestinian terrorists who are engaged in the execution and commissioning of terrorist acts. The IDF goes to amazing lengths to reduce Palestinian "collateral damage" but this is often hampered by the terrorists usage of civilian human shields.

The poverty of such comparisons was made painfully clear last week by a statement from Ahmed Abdel Rahman, secretary of the Palestinian cabinet, who blamed a recent Israeli raid on a Palestinian bomb factory in Nablus for the current spate of attacks. If one side is making the bombs ( destined to be strapped to suicidal terrorists to massacre Israeli civilians) and the other side conducting raids to prevent their manufacture, there is little room to question who is in the right. Is it any wonder, why Palestinians find moral equivalence, between Palestinian terrorists who blow up Sbarros pizzeria's and discos filled with teenagers and Israeli commandos, who preemptively kill terrorist ringleaders, before they send their suicide bombers into Israel on a mission to kill Jewish civilians.

No wonder, then, that a recent poll of French citizens shows that the majority believe (falsely) that prior to the establishment of the State of Israel an independent Arab Palestinian state existed in its place. Yet curiously, when it comes to giving the history of this "ancient" people most news outlets find it harder to go back more than the early nineteen hundreds.

CNN, an agency which has devoted countless hours of airtime to the "plight" of the Palestinians, has a website which features a special section on the Middle East conflict called "Struggle For Peace". It includes a promising sounding section entitled "Lands Through The Ages" which assures us it will detail the history of the region using maps. Strangely, it turns out, the maps displayed start no earlier than the ancient date of 1917. The facts remain, Prior to 1900 there was no such concept as the Palestinian People.

According to official Ottoman Turk census figures of 1882, in the entire Land of what is Israel today, there were only 141,000 Muslims, both Arab and non-Arab. This number was to skyrocket to 650,000 Arabs by 1922, a 450% increase in only 40 years. By 1938 that number would become over 1 million or an 800% increase in only 56 years. Population growth was especially high in areas where Jews lived. Where did all these Arabs come from?

They came from the surrounding Arab states of Egypt, Syria and Jordan. In 1922 the British Governor of the Sinai noted that “illegal immigration was not only going on from the Sinai, but also from Transjordan and Syria.”

Malcolm MacDonald, one of the principal authors of the British White Paper of 1939, which restricted Jewish immigration to the Land of Israel, admitted (conservatively) that were it not for a Jewish presence, the Arab population would have been little more than half of what it actually was.

In 1930, the British Mandate -sponsored Hope-Simpson Report noted that “unemployment lists are being swollen by immigrants from Trans-Jordania” and “illicit immigration through Syria and across the northern frontier of Palestine is material.” The Arabs themselves bare witness to this trend. For example, the governor of the Syrian district of Hauran, Tewfik Bey el Hurani, admitted in 1934 that in a single period of only a few months over 30,000 Syrians from Hauran had moved to Palestine. Even British Prime Minister Winston Churchill noted the Arab influx. Churchill, a veteran of the early years of the British mandate in the Land of Israel, noted in 1939 that “far from being persecuted, the Arabs have crowded into the country and multiplied.”

Even Arab historians have admitted Palestine never existed.

In 1946, Princeton's Arab professor of Middle East history, Philip Hitti, told the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry, Its common knowledge, there is no such thing as Palestine in history."

In 1937, the Arab leader Auni Bey Abdul Hadi told the Peel Commission,

"There is no such country as Palestine. "Palestine" is a term the Zionists invented. "'Palestine' is alien to us."

In 1956, Ahhmed Shukeiry, founder of the PLO told the UN, that Palestine is nothing but southern Syria."

Far from displacing the Arabs, as they claimed, the Jews were the very reason the Arabs chose to settle in the Land of Israel. Jobs provided by newly established Zionist industry and agriculture lured them there, just as Israeli construction and industry provides most Arabs in the Land of Israel with their main source of income today. Today, when due to the latest “intifada” Arabs from the territories under 35 are no longer allowed into pre-1967 Israel to work, unemployment has skyrocketed to over 40% and most rely on European aid packages to survive.

Not only pre-state Arabs lied about being indigenous. Even today, many prominent so-called Palestinians, it turns out, are foreign born. Edward Said, an Ivy League Professor long claimed to have been raised in Jerusalem. However, in an article in the September 1999 issue of Commentary Magazine Justus Reid Weiner revealed that Said actually grew up in Cairo, Egypt, a fact which Said himself was later forced to admit. But why bother with Said? PLO chief Yasir Arafat himself, self declared “leader of the Palestinian people”, has always claimed to have been born and raised in “Palestine”. In fact, according to his official biographer Richard Hart, as well as the BBC, Arafat was born in Cairo on August 24, 1929 and that’s where he grew up.

To maintain the charade of being an indigenous population, Arab propagandists have had to do more than a little rewriting of history. A major part of this rewriting involves the renaming of geography. For two thousand years the central mountainous region of Israel was known as Judea and Samaria, as any medireview map of the area testifies. However, the state of Jordan occupied the area in 1948 and renamed it the West Bank. This is a funny name for a region that actually lies in the eastern portion of the land and can only be called “West” in reference to Jordan. This does not seem to bother the majority of news outlets covering the region, which universally refer to the region by its recent Jordanian name.

The term “Palestinian" is itself a masterful twisting of history. To portray themselves as indigenous, Arab settlers adopted the name of an ancient Canaanite tribe, the Phillistines, that died out almost 3000 years ago. The connection between this tribe and modern day Arabs is nil. Who is to know the difference? Given the absence of any historical record, one can understand why Yasser Arafat claims that Jesus Christ, a Jewish carpenter from the Galilee, was a Palestinian. Every year, at Christmas time, Arafat goes to Bethlehem and tells worshippers that Jesus was in fact “the first Palestinian”.

If the Palestinians are indeed a myth, then the real question becomes “Why?” Why invent a fictitious people? The answer is that the myth of the Palestinian People serves as the justification for Arab occupation of the Land of Israel. While the Arabs already possess 21 sovereign countries of their own (more than any other single people on earth) and control a land mass 800 times the size of the Land of Israel, this is apparently not enough for them. They therefore feel the need to rob the Jews of their one and only country, one of the smallest on the planet. Unfortunately, many people ignorant of the history of the region, including much of the world media, are only too willing to help.

It is interesting to note that the Bible makes reference to a fictitious nation confronting Israel. “They have provoked me to jealously by worshipping a non-god, angered me with their vanities. I will provoke them with a non-nation; anger them with a foolish nation (Deuteronomy 32:21).”

On second thought, it may be unfair to compare Palestine to Disneyland. After all, Disneyland really exists.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, a litany of Christian travelers - Siebald Rieter and Johann Tucker, Arnold Van Harff and Father Michael Nuad, Martin Kabatnik and Felix Fabri, Count Constantine Francois Volney and Alphonse de Lamartine, Mark Twain and Sir George Gawler, Sir George Adam Smith and Edward Robinson - found Palestine virtually empty, except for Jewish communities in Jerusalem, Safed, Shechem, Hebron, Ramleh, Acre, Sidon, Tyre, Haifa, Irsuf, Caesarea, and El Arish, and throughout Galilee towns - Kfar Alma, Ein Zeitim, Biria, Pekiin, Kfar Hanania, Kfar Kana and Kfar Yassif. To stay, these Jews had submitted to innumerable conquerors, taxes, pogroms and degradation. But they stayed. In 1799, Palestine was still so much in need of people that Napoleon Bonaparte championed a full-scale return of Jews.

In the early 19th century, Palestine was a backward, neglected province of the Ottoman Empire. Travelers to Palestine from the Western world left records of what they saw there. The theme throughout their reports is dismal: The land was empty, neglected, abandoned, desolate, fallen into ruins.

In Jerusalem, all reports and journals of travelers, pilgrims and government representatives during these years, repeatedly record the poverty, filth and neglect and the desolate nature of the countryside. Early photographs show lepers in rags and dilapidated buildings. Jerusalem was surrounded by marauding bands of Bedouin Arabs and had to close her gates at nightfall and reopen them at first light, a practice that was similar in Biblical times.

Some quotes from the writings of these visitors before modern times:

a.. Nothing there [Jerusalem] to be seen but a little of the old walls which is yet remaining and all the rest is grass, moss and weeds. [English pilgrim in 1590]

b.. The country is in a considerable degree empty of inhabitants and therefore its greatest need is of a body of population. [british consul in 1857]

c.. There is not a solitary village throughout its whole extent [valley of Jezreel] -- not for 30 miles in either direction... One may ride ten miles hereabouts and not see ten human beings. ... For the sort of solitude to make one dreary, come to Galilee ... Nazareth is forlorn ... Jericho lies a moldering ruin ... Bethlehem and Bethany, in their poverty and humiliation... untenanted by any living creature... A desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds ... a silent, mournful expanse ... a desolation ... We never saw a human being on the whole route ... Hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil had almost deserted the country ... Of all the lands there are for dismal scenery Palestine must be the prince. The hills barren and dull, the valleys unsightly deserts [inhabited by] swarms of beggars with ghastly sores and malformations. Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes ... desolate and unlovely ... [Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad, 1867]

Remarkably, there are photographs dating to the 19th century and early 20th century that document the development of Palestine from the desolate, pre-Zionist landscape reported by travelers to the green and productive land that Jewish immigrants created there. This web site has 460 photographs and lithographs of the period, some never before available to the public. They show how the industrious Zionists made the lightly-populated land productive and able to support the great increases in Jewish and Arab numbers that came to Palestine in the following decades.

Winston Churchill was British Colonial Secretary when he visited the Middle East in the winter of 1920-1921. Anti-Semitic elements in the British government tried to assert that the Jews were not needed to develop Palestine. Churchill replied: Left to themselves, the Arabs of Palestine would not in a thousand years have taken effective steps towards the irrigation and electrification of Palestine. They would have been quite content to dwell-a handful of philosophic people-in wasted sun-drenched plains, letting the waters of the Jordan flow unbridled and unharnessed into the Dead Sea."

In 1924, a few months after becoming Commissioner of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Elwood Mead (namesake of Lake Mead behind Hoover Dam) published a highly favorable review of Jewish settlements in Palestine based on his visits there in 1923. His article, "New Palestine," praised the Zionists accomplishments and plans, a publicity coup. Mead blamed Islam, Ottoman governance, and Arab culture for the demise of Roman irrigation systems that, according to Mead, once supported "lands flowing with milk and honey." Mead was a consultant to Chiam Weizman offering his expertise to maximize the return on investment of the extensive investments in irrigation, land reclamation, and water supplies in the Zionist areas based on Mead's extensive experience in the American West..

After the Arab riots in 1929, Mead wrote to the British High Commissioner that the Jews had produced "a marvelous transformation" in the Palestinian landscape. Mead noted that in his visits to Palestine he had seen nothing "to indicate that the Arab was injured." Moreover, the Jewish example of "what modern finance and equipment can do, coupled with the sympathetic interest of the government is bringing him out of the hopeless inertia that misgovernment and oppression of centuries past have created .... " Jewish settlers in Palestine were not only reclaiming the land, they were elevating living standards for the Arab population and assisting the British government.

In his report to the League of Nations on the Administration of Palestine and Transjordan for the year 1925, the British High Commissioner wrote:

Fuel-power stations for the generation of electrical light and energy have been established at Haifa and Tiberias by the [Jewish] Palestine Electric Corporation, Limited. This increase in commercial activity, in building enterprise and new industrial developments is due almost entirely to Jewish capital and the entry during the year of an immigrant class with money to invest.

During this period a significant shift of population took place as Arabs and others from all over the Middle East moved to the areas of Zionist cultivation and development. The organizational and technical skills of the Jewish settlers, their access to outside capital, and their sheer hard work created an economic boom that created opportunity for Arab workers, particularly in contrast to the stagnant conditions elsewhere in the region.

1.. As far back as 1893, the Jews not only were already far from being a small minority in the areas where they had settled, but were the largest single group there (if one divides the non-Jewish population into Muslim and Christian), and

2.. Substantial immigration of Arabs to Palestine took place during the first half of the twentieth century; from 1893 to 1947 while the Palestinian Arab population slightly more than doubled in areas where no Jews were settled, it quintupled in the main areas of Jewish settlement.

These findings are supported with an array of demographic statistics and contemporary accounts, the bulk of which have not been questioned by any reviewer.

(I read your editorial about how the home video of Palestinian mother Naima al-Obeid and her 19-year-old son, Mahmoud, was made public, celebrating his decision to carry out a homicide mission, in which he was successful in being killed, while killing two Israelis. I submit the following letter, hoping to reach Naima al-Obeid.)

To Naima al-Obeid:

I want to buy your children. As I understand it, you have seven children still alive (your son Mahmoud killed himself, I'm sorry to hear). I'll offer more than Saddam Hussein has offered; he'll pay $25,000 each, if they are willing to turn themselves into human bombs, but I'll pay $30,000 each.

I want to buy them away from the god of death you worship. Perhaps I can help them convert to traditional Islam, a religion that abhors murder and suicide. Maybe they'll wish to become Christian or Jewish or Buddhist or atheist. That will be their choice, if I can raise them as Americans.

If you sell your children to Hussein, instead of me, they are guaranteed to die young, to die blown to bits, to die while perhaps killing innocent women and children. I can't guarantee them immortality (neither can that god of death you worship, I can assure you), but I can guarantee to try to keep them safe and allow them to live long, healthy and productive lives. That's our dream in America.

I will pay top dollar for your children. I will top the offer of Hussein, of the Saudis, of Hamas, or the Palestinian Authority put together.

For a long time my wife and I have wondered what we might do to help in the war on terror. In buying your children, I see an opportunity for us to save countless innocent lives, among them your seven children.

If you suffered a 9-11 attack on an almost daily basis like the Israelis do, at some point you will not be so agreeable, diplomatic or willing to offer a olive branch. I read something that 1999 was the only year that no Israeli civilians were killed by Arab terrorists in Israel. In that year, 99 percent of Palestinians were living under Arafat's rule. Not one time did Israel go in any Palestinian city in 1999. This is not to hard to figure out. Israel wouldn't go in one Palestinian city if the Palestinians stop killing Israeli civilians. Everytime Israel leaves a Palestinian city, what happens, the Palestinians resume terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians. This forces Israel to go back in these cities.

Israel withdrew ELEVEN times from the West Bank to effect a cease-fire. Each time Israel was attacked by suicide bombers who massacred Israeli civilians in Israel. The Palestinian Authority failed to arrest them, and instead paid their families awards. Arafat even named streets after them as "martyrs". How can anyone take seriously, Arab leaders that encourage terror attacks against civilians?

You see, when someone wants to destroy you and kill your civilians. When you have 70 percent of Arabs who support homicide bombers against Israeli civilians. When you have Palestinian terrorists groups that refuse to sign an agreement, not to target Israeli woman and children. What do you expect Israel to do? When you hear about all the Israeli civilians being massacred. Thats only the Palestinian terrorist atrocities that got through. You know how many bus massacres, cafe massacres, Israeli security forces prevented.

When Israel was making peace with Egypt. How many times did Israeli soldiers attack Egypt? Zero Times.

When Israel was making peace with King Hussein. How many times did Israel attack Jordan? Zero times.

They didn't attack them, because Egyptians and Jordanians were murdering Israeli woman and children, like Palestinian terrorists are. I'll ask if, if everytime Israel leaves a Palestinian city and the second they leave, Palestinian terrorists from the city then massacre Israeli civilians. What do you expect Israel to do?

Israel targets Palestinians terrorists who send homicide bombers and gunman, who go into Israeli college cafeterias, night clubs, restaurants, felafel stands, buses, and hotel lobbies full civilians, and deliberately massacre hundreds of innocent Israeli civilians.

Several Palestinian officials from different groups have already arrived in Cairo for the conference. PA officials said the conference was expected to end in failure after most of the Palestinian groups announced that they would not halt their attacks against civilians inside Israel.

Can you imagine that, these Palestinians wont sign an agreement not to target woman and children in Israel. You couldn't find me a Hindu, Budhish, Jewish or Christian leader that wouldn't sign an agreement not to target innocent civilians. Only the murderous Arabs wont sign it.

Nothing will change for the Palestinians, because its not about their state its about destroying Israel. The Pals live in bad conditions, because their leaders keep them in it, not because of Israel. Mofaz: Arafat gave 'green light' to suicide attacks

Information directly linking Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat to terror organizations was presented Friday by Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz.

Addressing the Economic-Social Club in Nes Tziona, Mofaz charged that Arafat had instructed the heads of the organizations to kill more Israelis.

Referring to a never-before publicized conversation between Arafat and the leaders of the terror groups in February 2001, the defense minister charged that "the Palestinian plan was to cause a few thousand Israeli deaths within a number of months, so that Israel would give in to them... It was tantamount to giving a green light to the suicide terror attacks against Israel."

Mofaz said Hamas and Islamic Jihad began the suicide attack campaign and were joined a year or so ago by Arafat's Fatah organization. He noted that Israel was in possession of additional intelligence indicating Arafat's involvement in the terror, adding that the United States and other countries were also privy to this information.

In the past, Israel presented information concerning cash payments from Arafat's office to terror activists.

Significant information on the issue was published in June last year, when it was reported that shortly after the suicide attack at the French Hill junction in Jerusalem, that left seven Israelis dead, Arafat met with Fatah activist Mohammed Naifeh from Tul Karm, giving him $20,000 to be used for the operations of Fatah's military wing.

Israel passed on this information to U.S. President George W. Bush, who in turn, distanced himself from Arafat.

The Palestinians who reject all offers of peace, then respond by blowing up Israeli woman and children and you take there side. Are you insane?

How can anyone take seriously, Arab leaders that encourage terror attacks against civilians?

Mofaz: Arafat gave 'green light' to suicide attacks

Information directly linking Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat to terror organizations was presented Friday by Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz.

Addressing the Economic-Social Club in Nes Tziona, Mofaz charged that Arafat had instructed the heads of the organizations to kill more Israelis.

Referring to a never-before publicized conversation between Arafat and the leaders of the terror groups in February 2001, the defense minister charged that "the Palestinian plan was to cause a few thousand Israeli deaths within a number of months, so that Israel would give in to them... It was tantamount to giving a green light to the suicide terror attacks against Israel."

Mofaz said Hamas and Islamic Jihad began the suicide attack campaign and were joined a year or so ago by Arafat's Fatah organization. He noted that Israel was in possession of additional intelligence indicating Arafat's involvement in the terror, adding that the United States and other countries were also privy to this information.

In the past, Israel presented information concerning cash payments from Arafat's office to terror activists.

Significant information on the issue was published in June last year, when it was reported that shortly after the suicide attack at the French Hill junction in Jerusalem, that left seven Israelis dead, Arafat met with Fatah activist Mohammed Naifeh from Tul Karm, giving him $20,000 to be used for the operations of Fatah's military wing.

II. The article below by Shulamit Aloni which appeared in

ha'aretz,Israel's most respected newspaper on March 7th,

assumes that you already know that every single day there are

Palestinians being murdered by the Israeli occupation, homes

being destroyed, and dozens being wounded or maimed, hundreds

being tortured.

We at TIKKUN blame this not only on Ariel Sharon but also on

the disgusting acts of terror by Palestinians, acts which have

given a political mandate to the most fascistic elements in

Israeli society. We unequivocally condemn those acts of

terror, most recently the suicide bombing of a bus in Haifa

(killing over 14 people, including a young American girl

participating in a project of Arab-Israeli cooperation).

Though these acts are in response to the far higher level of

violence and murder perpetrated against Palestinians by the

made by Shulamit Aloni, the former Member of Knesset who was

leader of the peace party Ratz which then became Meretz. Aloni

served in the Cabinet of former Labor governments. And her

point is that no matter how awful the acts of terror, they do

systematic destruction of the Palestinian people. Please read

her analysis--which challenges those who say that comparisions

to Hitler are always are a wild distortion. While not exactly

having death camps, Aloni argues, there is a systematic wiping

out of the Palestinian poeple going on now. And we are in

We do not have gas chambers and crematoria, but there is no

one fixed method for genocide.

Dr. Ya'akov Lazovik writes ("Academic Genocide", "Ha'Aretz", 4

March)that in the State of Israel it is impossible that the

regime and the nation will plan and commit a genocide. It is

difficult to determineif this is naivety or

self-righteousness. As we know, there is no single fixed

method for murder and not even for genocide. The author Y. L.

Peretz wrote about "the righteous cat" who does not spill

blood, but only suffocates.

The government of Israel, using the military and its

instruments ofdestruction, is not only spilling blood, but it

is also suffocating. What other name can be given to the

dropping of a one-ton bomb over a dense urban area, when the

justification uttered is that we wanted to murder a dangerous

terrorist and his wife? The rest of the citizens who were

killed and injured, among whom are children and women, do not

count, of course.

How is it possible to explain the expulsion of citizens from

their homes at three o'clock in the morning on a rainy night,

thendepositing bombs in the house and then departing without

warning?When those expelled returned to their home, the bombs

were exploded and a brutal murder and destruction of property

was thus committed.

And what is the justification for what happened in Jenin? We

did not destroy the whole neighbourhood, just 85 houses; it

was notslaughter, we killed only 50-some citizens. How many

does one need to murder and destroy for it to be a crime? - A

crime against humanity, as determined by the Laws of the State

of Israel, not only the laws of Belgium.

And more: A curfew and closure of an entire city so that a

few celebrants from the racist bunch in Hebron could walk to

the Cave of the Fathers, and tanks destroying fruit and

vegetable stands, and bulldozers that destroy houses, and

Generals who, in their arrogant hubris, are willing to destroy

a whole neighbourhood for the convenience of a group of

settler hooligans. Curfew, closure,brutality, murder,

destruction of homes of suspects, while we keep parroting the

incantation that a person is innocent until proven otherwise

(as in the case of our Prime Minister and his sons).

The order that Ariel Sharon gave to the soldiers who went to

wreakrevenge in Qibiah: "Maximize losses in life and

property", has not been forgotten. Today Sharon, Mofaz and

Yaalon, the three Generals who manage the policy of this

government, behave like that self-righteous cat - suffocating

all the time. Curfew and another curfew, arrests and more

arrests, destruction of roads, brutality to the residents at

road stops. Benny Alon, (a minister in the present

government), already said: "make their life so bitter that

they will transfer themselves willingly".

This is done on a daily basis, in addition to the destruction.

The Chief of Staff, Yaalon, already announced that he is

"destroying for re-building". One can understand from his

moves that the "building"is building of more and more

settlements. So that they will not be obliged, as military

rulers, to take care of the residents'well-being, the army

uses sorties, followed by retreats. They enter a village,

they kill, they destroy and they arrest, and then they

retreat. Those who remain on the ashes and the ruins will

take care of themselves.

Many of our children are being indoctrinated, in religious

schools,that the Arabs are Amalek, and the bible teaches us

that Amalek must be destroyed. There was already a rabbi

(Israel Hess) who wrote in the newspaper of Bar Ilan

University that we all must commit genocide,and that is

because his research showed that the Palestinians are Amalek.

The nation is not planning to commit genocide; the nation

really does not want to know what's happening in the

territories. The nation isfollowing orders given by the

legitimate representatives of the regime. After the

legitimate Prime Minister who wanted to bring peace was

murdered, the hand is loose on the trigger, greed is

paramount, and there is always some reason to brutalise all of

the residents of a city that number tens, if not hundreds of

thousands,

because there arealways people there who are on the "wanted" list.

It is sufficient that one person is wanted to bomb and kill,

by mistake, of course, also women, children, workers and other

humans - if indeed we still count them as humans.

Of course with our self-righteousness, with our self-adoration

in our "Jewish ethics" we make sure to advertise how

beautifully thedoctors take care of Palestinian victims in the

hospitals. We do not advertise how many of those are executed

in cold blood in their own homes.

So it's not yet genocide of the terrible and unique style of

which wewere past victims. And as one of the smart Generals

told me, we do not have crematoria and gas chambers. Is

anything less than that consistent with Jewish ethics? Did he

ever hear how an entire people said that it did not know what

was done in its name?

Judging by the depravity of their behavior, Palestinians deserve nothing other than continued hardship. Certainly, they deserve no state. That state would be a terrorist state based on killing civilians. Gandhi and MLK exemplified peaceful, honorable, ethical forms of protest, and both triumphed. The American left views Palestinian radicals as "freedom fighters," therefore liberating "Palestine" has become one of the central battles of the new "anti-war" movement.

To ensure that fledgling radicals know which position to take in regard to the Arab-Israeli war, the website of the Workers World Party (WWP)- the Stalinist cult that bankrolls the current "peace" movement- lays out plainly how all good lefties should view Israel. The website contains hundreds of articles filled with anti-Jew vitriol, and loathsome denunciations of the "Imperialist" Jewish state. Another radical organization that is active in the "peace" movement actually arranges for leftwing malcontents to travel from America to Israel. There, the radical Jew-haters carry out plots to sabotage the Israeli Army's peacekeeping efforts. The group's website boasts photographs of the left-wing thugs whom it sponsors engaged in physical confrontations with Israeli soldiers. This dangerous organization, called "The International Solidarity Movement," has chapters in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Michigan, Washington and Sweden.

The movement to "liberate Palestine" is a movement that defines itself by its hatred of Jews and a violent desire to spill their blood. The American and international left, however, chooses to ignore this cold fact. It instead throws its weight behind the Palestinian "liberation movement" because it believes that the Palestinians are "oppressed" by the Israelis, whom the left considers agents of "Western Imperialism."

The left believes that the warfare in Israel is a "cycle of violence," rather than an offensive terrorist war against Israeli civilians. It believes that Israeli soldiers are to blame for the ongoing warfare- that when the Israeli military moves into a Palestinian village to root out terrorists, it is not attempting to stop future terrorist attacks but is instead taking "revenge" on out-gunned Palestinians. The left has been on the wrong side of every important issue in history. Its position on the Arab-Israeli war is no exception.

The best way to understand what it means to be "pro-Palestine" is to look at the agenda of the Arab organizations that are working for "Palestinian liberation." Since its inception, the PLO has taken part in hundreds of terrorist attacks against Israelis. In recent years, Arafat has paid lip service to a Palestinian desire for peace, but the PLO's ambition to drive the Jews into the sea continues.

Consider, for example, a statement that Arafat made in the aftermath of a recent suicide attack in which 29 Israeli civilians were slaughtered at a Passover celebration. Referring to this attack, the bloodthirsty Arafat prayed: "Oh God, give me martyrdom like this. We are all potential martyrs, the whole Palestinian people." In a speech in Sweden in January 1996, the Palestinian leader declared: "You understand that we plan to eliminate the State of Israel and establish a purely Palestinian State. We will make life unbearable for Jews by psychological warfare and population explosion; Jews will not want to live among us Arabs!"

In September 2002, Arafat stated "By Allah I swear that the Palestinian people are prepared to sacrifice the last boy and the last girl so that the Palestinian flag will be flown over the walls, the churches, and the mosques of Jerusalem."

Arafat's statements are right in line with the attitude towards Jewry that prevails among Arab leaders and officials. In a letter to President Bush and the United States Congress, a member of the Consultative Council of Saudi Arabia, named Amhed al-Tuwaijri, actually had the gall to openly defend suicide bombings. In the letter, dated April 16, 2002, the Saudi official writes: "When young men and women offered their souls for the sake of freedom and independence and in defense of their religion, dignity, self and family, the United States could not find anything to describe these great sacrifices except to say they are terrorist, criminal actions." I suppose it should not be surprising that a Saudi official would make such a horrific statement. Saudi Arabia, after all, is a nation that recently held a telethon, during which one hundred million dollars was raised for Palestinian suicide bombers.

Support and encouragement for suicide attacks against innocent Israelis is also commonplace among Palestinian clergy. On April 12, 2002, in a televised sermon that was delivered from a mosque in Gaza City, an Imam of the Palestinian Authority unleashed the following message to his Arab disciples: "Anyone who does not attain martyrdom in these days should wake in the middle of the night and say: 'My God, why have you deprived me of martyrdom for your sake? For the martyr lives next to Allah.'" He then continued:

"Oh Allah, accept our martyrs in the highest heaven."

"Oh Allah, show the Jews a black day."

"Oh Allah, annihilate the Jews and their supporters."

"Oh Allah, raise the flag of Jihad across the land."

Not only do Arabs encounter suicidal messages in their mosques, but Palestinian children are actually bred, through schooling, to rejoice in the slaughter of innocent Jews. Consider the following line excerpted from a Palestinian schoolbook, "I will take my soul into my hands and hurl it into the abyss of death." Or this line, taken from another textbook: "Beware of the Jews, for they are treacherous and disloyal." Or this line from the PLO teachers guide, which is placed under the heading "important values" that should be instilled in Palestinian youth: "Wrath to the alien thief [israel] who obliterated the Homeland and dispersed its people."

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the Palestinian liberation movement is about killing Jews. There is no effective voice of moderation among the Palestinian leadership or clergy. There is nobody in the Palestinian community who is effectively promoting a peaceful solution to the Arab-Israeli war. To the terrorist organizations that are leading the movement to "liberate Palestine," the possibility of living side by side with Jews is unthinkable. In their minds, the Jews are infidels who deserve to be driven from the Middle East through a bloody Jihad.

To put this all into perspective it is necessary to look at the historical roots of the Palestinians' war against Israel. Prior to the First World War, what is today called Israel was part of the Ottoman Empire and was known as Palestine- though it was not considered the "nation" of Palestine. Nor were the Arabs who lived there considered "Palestinians." They were considered- and they considered themselves-"Arabs." In the aftermath of WWI, the Ottoman Empire, which had allied with Germany, was divided up among the British and French victors. The area then known as Palestine came under British rule. During this period, the area known as Palestine experienced an influx of European Jews.

In the wake of the holocaust, a movement for a Jewish nation-state garnered support from the United Nations. Throughout the 1930s, as the rise of Hitler catalyzed intensive Jewish immigration to the area of Palestine, tensions between Jews and Arabs escalated and two attempts by the British, in 1937 and in 1939, to divide the land between Arabs and Jews were rejected. The Arabs rejected the first attempt, and the Jews rejected the second attempt, which would have restricted the rights of Jews to immigrate and own land.

At the close of World War II, an acceleration of fighting between Jews and Arabs in this area prompted Britain's decision to turn the problem over to the United Nations, which supported the creation of a Jewish state. On May 14, 1948, Britain officially withdrew from the area and Israel was declared a nation. On this very day, five neighboring Arab countries- Egypt, Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, Iraq and Syria attacked Israel. Amazingly, the outnumbered Jewish nation was able to beat back its Arab foes and a peace treaty was signed in 1949. When the war ended, Egypt was in control of the Gaza Strip and Trans-Jordan had annexed the West Bank (these territories were later won by Israel in the 1967 war).

The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was formed in 1964. From the outset, the PLO stated that its ultimate goal is to drive the Jews into the sea. The destruction of the state of Israel was actually laid out plainly in the PLO Charter until PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat ordered it removed in 1993. Arafat, however, still wears the official sign of the PLO - a map of the future state of Palestine - on the sleeve of his military uniform. This map shows Palestine encompassing the entire land of Israel. This is the goal of the PLO: to destroy Israel and replace it with an Arab nation called "Palestine." Among the leadership of the Palestinian liberation movement Yasser Arafat is actually a moderate voice. This is a man who funds terrorism and publicly encourages (in Arabic) his followers to carry out suicide attacks against innocent, defenseless Israeli men, women and children. Arafat is a man who walked away from peace talks in 2000 after then-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered to give the Palestinians 99% of the land that they demanded. Arafat did not accept Israel's concession for one reason: in Arafat's words, "Peace for us means the destruction of Israel."

Until terrorist groups like Hezbollah, Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade are brought to heel; until the PLO ceases funding and encouraging terrorism; until there is a deep change in the cultural attitudes of Palestinians, the Arab war against Israeli will persist. Innocent Israeli civilians will continue to be blown to pieces by Jew-hating Muslim radicals; children will continue to be incinerated in their school buses; babies will continue to die in their strollers on city sidewalks; old men and women will continue to be slaughtered by madmen in street-side cafes. These are the realities of the Palestinian "liberation movement." The next time that a Western "peace" demonstrator feels compelled to pick up a Palestinian flag and wave it in the air, he should take a look at the news photos of Jewish bodies strewn across Israeli streets and think about what he is actually supporting.

Who’s Behind the News?

Few people are aware that most of the news coming out of the Palestinian territories is reported by Palestinian journalists—thereby putting an obvious slant on much of the information.

This is especially true of television pictures beamed around the world, taken mostly by Palestinian cameramen who work for big international news agencies such as Reuters and the Associated Press.

The reason is simple. Most foreign journalists are based in Jerusalem, and the people taking the pictures during Israeli raids and curfews are naturally Palestinians who live in those areas. The same is true of the wire service reporters and stringers who provide the breaking news from the Palestinian areas to foreign news agencies in Jerusalem and around the world. They are Palestinians who are there, on scene.

“This being the case, it’s not surprising that the foreign media have an anti-Israel point of view,” says Roni Shaked, a leading Arab affairs expert at Israel’s biggest newspaper Yediot Ahronot. “Palestinian journalists have just one goal and that is to make Israel look bad in the eyes of the world,” Shaked told israel today. “By contrast, almost no Israeli correspondents work with the foreign press.”

Palestinian ‘Media Management’

Most foreign news agencies have Palestinians on the payroll who provide information, set up interviews and serve as fixers—guides in the dangerous Palestinian Authority territories.

“The foreign news agencies have no choice but to hire Palestinian producers,” says Daniel Siemen, the director of Israel’s Government Press Office (GPO). “That’s why Israel looks so bad in the foreign media.”

Siemen told us that the Palestinians manipulate the media by deciding where journalists and TV crews should be, and when. One example, he says, is Marwan Barghouti, the arch-terrorist now on trial in Israel. “Barghouti informed three leading foreign networks of the exact time that his people would begin shooting from Beit Jala [near Bethlehem] into Jerusalem,” said Siemen, who has been GPO director for two years. “The TV crews did not film the Palestinians shooting; they were only allowed to film the Israeli response.”

Dr. Ron Schleifer, an expert in psychological warfare at Bar Ilan University, concurs. “As soon as Israeli soldiers saw foreign journalists arriving at certain locations, they knew that something was about to happen,” he says. “The foreign news agencies are aware of the fact that in the PA areas there is no freedom of the press, but it doesn’t bother them. They have to cooperate with the Palestinians if they want to receive hot news tips.”

Schleifer says there is enormous competition among the foreign media to be at the right place at the right time and get the scoop. “The Palestinians don’t tell foreign press agencies what they should report, but about what to report. We call that media management.”

Europe’s Anti-Israel Bias

Siemen, the GPO director, points a finger at the BBC, the Spanish and the French as the worst offenders when it comes to anti-Israel reporting. To illustrate the point, he refers to an incident during Israel’s Defensive Shield offensive in Judea and Samaria last spring.

When the Palestinians claimed that Israeli soldiers killed a priest in Bethlehem, none of the agencies bothered to check the veracity of the report, which could have been done with a short phone call to local Vatican representatives. Instead, the major European news outlets went with the story. By the next day, everyone knew the story was a lie, but by then it was too late.

“European journalists report every allegation by the Palestinians against Israel as if it is irrefutable fact,” said Siemen. “As a result, their reporting is partly responsible for the rising wave of anti-Semitism in Europe.”

Prominent Israeli author and peace activist Amos Oz also accused the Europeans of anti-Israeli bias. “If I were to see Israel through the eyes of the European media,” Oz said, “I would get the impression that 70 percent of the population are soldiers, 29 percent are fanatic settlers in the West Bank, and one percent are wonderful intellectuals who work for peace.”

“I often hear Europeans say that in light of the grief and suffering of the Palestinians, their ‘resistance’ is understandable,” Oz continued. “On the other hand, they say the Jews have suffered so many horrors during their history that no one understands how they could now be so violent. This means that when the Palestinians resist, one can understand their violent acts, but if the Jews do the same, one cannot.”

Staging the News

In an interview with the Jerusalem weekly Kol Ha’ir, Siemen said the Palestinians have no qualms about staging the news. “While the Israeli army destroys empty Palestinian houses in its pursuit of terrorists, one sees pictures again and again of little Palestinian children sitting with dolls and toys in the ruins,” he said.

Such scenes are very easy to improvise, especially when Palestinian journalists receive about $300 for a “good” photo job.

Last April the Palestinians kept telling the world that 500 Palestinians were killed in Jenin. When the Palestinians counted the people killed in Jenin, it was only 55. Then the Palestinians started having fake funerals in Jenin to make it like more Palestinians were killed. In one incident captured on tape, dozens of Palestinians are carrying the supposed body of a dead Palestinian to his funeral. When a BBC cameraman videotaped the incident, all of a sudden the dead person jumped off a stretcher.

In a similar event, A Palestinian photographer who works in northern Samaria (Jenin, Nablus and Tulkarem) admitted that he had fabricated several pictures of children and parents on the ruins of demolished houses. “Naturally, these houses were empty when they were destroyed by Israeli soldiers, otherwise we would have photographed the dead bodies,” he told the newspaper matter-of-factly.

Furthermore, Palestinian journalists know better than to publish anything that might offend Yasser Arafat. “Those who criticize Arafat do it only in Arab papers abroad,” said Roni Shaked. “Since Arafat assumed power in the Palestinian areas in 1994, he has been dictating the agenda of the Palestinian press.” Many Palestinian journalists have been intimidated and punished for criticizing Arafat.

Israel’s Dilemma

As head of the Government Press Office, Siemen has a tough job trying to counter the media bias against Israel. While Israel supports freedom of the press it has to draw the line somewhere. “Because Israel is in a crisis situation, we have to look after our own interests,” he says. “On one hand I have to represent the interests of my country, and on the other I have to present a positive image of Israel to foreign journalists.”

Siemen has vowed to confront the foreign reporters who spread disinformation about Israel. A while back, the correspondent for Abu Dhabi TV was expelled after reporting that Israeli troops summarily executed five Palestinians in Ramallah. In fact, they were gunmen killed in a firefight when soldiers raided their hideout.

For security reasons, the GPO no longer hands out Israeli press cards to all Palestinian journalists, as it used to.

“Foreign news agencies would order press cards from us, which they would give to Palestinians who are not necessarily reporters,” said Siemen. “The press card helped them pass through Israeli checkpoints.”

Recently, two Palestinian photographers were detained on suspicion of smuggling ammunition in their press vehicle into the Palestinian areas. One worked for Reuters, the other for the French news agency. The Foreign Press Association has loudly protested over Israel’s reluctance to issue press cards to Palestinians. Ironically, this is the same foreign press that accepts and cooperates with the Palestinian system of “media management.”

Iraqi aid to terrorists' families continues

Even the continuing U.S. pressure on Iraq is not stopping Saddam Hussein from sending financial aid to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers in the territories. It appears now that the massive Iraqi support has started to arouse the concern of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat, who fears that outside assistance reduces his influence on what happens in the territories.

After a long hiatus, Arafat has renewed sending checks to the families of dead and injured terrorists (though he has not transferred monies to the families of suicide bombers).

Israeli security sources told Haaretz that at the end of January, representatives of the Arab Liberation Front, the Palestinian organization supported by Iraq, distributed financial aid to the families of 52 people killed in the refugee camps in central Gaza.

The Iraqis, the sources said, adhered to a tariff set by Saddam Hussein at the beginning of the current intifada, with a suicide attack proving more "profitable" to the family of the perpetrator than a "martyr" operation in which the terrorist is killed by Israel Defense Forces fire, but does not blow himself up with an explosive belt. The suicide bomber's family receives $25,000, while the family of a martyr receives "only" $10,000.

Because of the difficulty in sending suicide bombers into Israel, the number of families receiving the "bonus" for these missions is relatively small.

As on previous occasions, the ceremony in January at which the funds were distributed was attended by official representatives of the Palestinian Authority. They expressed no reservations about the praise heaped on suicide bombers by the emissaries from Iraq.

Defense sources report that Arafat recently did express qualms about the Iraqi support, as well as the aid coming from other countries, such as Iran and Saudi Arabia, and Islamic charity organizations.

"Arafat is not overly-enthusiastic about the brazen outside involvement in Palestinian affairs", a defense source claimed. "It weakens his status. Now he has to try to regain some of the public support through renewing the process of transferring money."

Last month, Arafat started to redistribute aid to the families of injured Palestinians. Following the IDF operation in Zeitoun in Gaza about a month ago, the PA leader transferred payments to the tune of $300,000 to families whose homes and property had been destroyed, as well as to families that had suffered injuries or fatalities.

The money was distributed at official ceremonies organized by the PA and sent to families by governors on behalf of the authority in Khan Yunis, Gaza and the refugee camps in the center of the Strip. The money was also paid to families of killed Hamas activists.

There has been a decline recently in the influence and scope of the contributions to the Holy Land Fund from the prominent Islamic charity organizations that transfer donations to the territories. It appears that the decline is connected to steps taken by the U.S. administration, which recently outlawed the fund.

The war against Israel you see going on, was fueled by Arabs and paid for by radical Arabs and Iran who benefit from this fight by taking the media coverage away from their own cutthroat, murdering ways within their own borders - Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt are good examples of this.

Judging by the depravity of their behavior Palestinians deserve nothing other than continued hardship. Certainly, they deserve no state, because it would be a terrorist state based on killing civilians. Gandhi and MLK exemplified peaceful, honorable, ethical forms of protest, and both triumphed. Palestinians try to force their agenda through war crimes while at the same time screaming that THEY are the victims.

There is no greater personification of evil than that of Islamic demogogues who use religion to inflame the passions of the mindless exhorting them to commit murder against civilians and calling it martyrdom. The demogogues usually succeed in stealing vast sums of governmental money, benefitting from the money themselves while the masses live poverty. Welcome to Arab culture. This is the model for life in Arab countries.

The Arabs continually initiate the violence - the Israelis have not fired the first shots. Do the Palestinians expect not to be fired back on?
