Well, the venue is a joke so it doesn't count. There's more hip-hop parties than you can shake a stick at in this town, it's making a mockery of the beach. Do you hear people in other cities going gaga over Level? Not since they turned into a hip-hop club...the people in other cities go apeshit over Space 34, and crobar...clubs with quality music and DJs. I never understood Space's need for a hip-hop room anyway, there's like 3000 people in the main room for Oscar G/Edgar/guest DJ, and like 200-300 in the hip-hop room. The front room at Space is nice, it would make for an excellent lounge with a more downtempo beat than the main room, or simply just pass the signal over at a lower volume. If they mixed up the playlist with some underground shit or had any semblance of variety, it may be tolerable, but how can one get amped hearing "Back That Thang Up" for the 4,352,654,753,536,476,234,377th fucking time?
