You gotta get the people first, they don't really care about the music, except for the difference between hip hop and house. My suggestion is to have a collection of DJ's spin throughout the night. Don't have to be big names, and you certainly should not have to pay all of them. But by doing this you will get free promotion for your party. The more DJ's the better chance you have more of a crowd that would not have been there if they were not a friend of a DJ. I've seen this work before in Lauderdale, granted it was a one time event, but it worked. Musical format...... I suggest a mixture of whatever, house, trance, tech, even a little mainstream 931 style.... if your doing it at Venu, then you can actually pull peeps in that are walking by if they like what they hear. Vip I had that exact conversation last night with someone, but i'm not sold on the idea yet. AS much as i love roland and as big as a following cheeslini has I think i may need some bigger guns. I'd say get a decent DJ and hire some escorts to hang out in your party. People go where the hot chicks are even if the music is not so great. Plus hard trance won't work. 2. about Garfield I had a club owner ask me about him, i won't totaly knock the dude, hes got a following but not nearly enough for a big party.3. the hooker thing doesn't need doing in lauderdale. Like we preach lauderdale has more hot chicks compared to miami 10-1...4. I'm also considering Rap acts and Bands.. Just nothing has popped into my head. Though an old school 85-95 rap classics night could work... 5. Still love my freestyle, just can't seem to work it into anything i'm thinking of. 6. no one knows the venue i have the deal with, not even guyman. (just haven't talked to him yet) but besides that no one knows.. Don't assume anything. 7. Just so any lauderdale fans know, the feud between venue and matrix is ova. Venue is here to stay and they are making a lot of money. They'll do 80k at the door before a drink is poured on their hip hop rap concerts. 8. Mr LP was looking at venue for a mini space, but it never materialized, so if the man wasn't sold on it, why should I?9. Anyonw with serious DJ connections PM me. I"m talking only top 5% DJs.. This is just not a solo SandG thang, outside help is welcome or if you think you have the balls or the ideas to get it to work pm me with the info. We need hook ups. All of mine don't have the pulling power... They do just this place is too big..Keep the ideas comming....thanks...Trance sucks, but I'd consider booking a trance dj...Also most of yous think its lauderdale, which it might be, but think demographics...
