zeeker
I hate to say it, but Exit can't possibly have too much time left to be open. It seems like numbers are just getting lower and lower every weekend. Half the club was closed off, and it was still really empty last night. Project spun an Oakenfold-esque length set of about 2 hours. I enjoyed it, but it seemed like as soon as he started to get the place even halfway warmed up, he was off. Very cool guy though, he hung out for awhile before and after his set. I think Jason Jollins (sp?) opened and closed, and did a decent job getting the place warmed up. It was an ok night on the whole, but a bit dissapointing compared to last year. There's actually one song Project played that I am dying to get an ID on...hard trance track, sounds very very similar to Cosmic Gate's remix of Rank 1's 'Awakening,' except the main synth sound is like, extended a few seconds, and there's a slight variation at the end. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for any help. i've been there for all of the mix parties at exit and every one has been for the most part packed. from open to close, the night when ferry corsten was one of the best nights i've had there. the music from beginning to end was perfect and there was an excellent vibe throughout the night. last friday the numbers could have been better and i agree that last year was better. however, i personally didn't even hear about the party until the night before. i don't think they put to much promotion into it. i enjoyed projects set. how can you say jason jollins did a decent job of opening? that was one of the best opening sets i've ever heard at that club. the vibe that he set for sp was perfect and the two encores he received after his opening set was uncharacteristic of something you would see at exit. jdogg
Jason Jollins put up a really nice opening set there, and for one of the *very* few times that I have ventured to the place, I went there to see what Jason could do on the main floor. His set was really great - dropping a mix of new tracks and some stuff that brought last year back to mind. Dot Allsion - Strung Out made me think of the fun that was all about last summer.I think that the next time that Jollins opens, he should just keep on going for the night....it might be better off for everyone. jasonjollins
wow! thanks for the postive comments regarding my set guys. i had a really fun time and the mix nyc guys are tops for giving me the opportunity to play on that system. exit has an amazing dj booth. 6 freakin techniques and you can choose to use the new poineer, the euri, or the rane rotery as all three mixers are in the booth. the crowd was very welcoming and it was a great feeling the way they reacted to my set. scott was a really nice guy, humble as well considering where he is at in terms of rep and credentials. the mix nyc guys have some great line ups planned and promise to bring you some top notch talent. feel free to visit there site at www.Mix nyc.comps. how come when i type mix nyc together it looks like this mi**** ?
