You bring up alot of good points there, but lets not forget, comparing your freedom to drink for instance with one's freedom to smoke is like comparing apples to oranges. When you are packed into a nightclub in VERY close proximity to everyone around you, the guy on your right who is drinking a Jack and Coke is not exhaling toxic carbon monoxide fumes all over you, and making your hair and clothes stink.On the other hand, the guy to your left who is puffing on a cigarette is doing all that.The arguement isn't about your freedom to do as you please. The arguement is how that freedom directly affects those around you, whether you want to admit that or not. What if part of my routine for getting ready to go out involed rubbing myself down from head to toe in dogshit? I'm sure once I got into the club you wouldn't want me walking past you bumping into you repeatedly would you. Hey, it's my freedom to that isn't it?, but it directly affects those around me in a negative way, and that's what cigarettes do when you are in such close proximity to others. If it's a big outdoor place where there are means to escape from it, fine, but my gripe is when it's in packed in places, where you can't get away from it. adam23 Posted May 20 Author Report Share Posted May 20 Look im not tryin to say blowin smoke in someones face is my right nor am i saying u should be able to smoke anywhere u please. i also admit smokin does affect the people around me. i even realize the habit sucks, and trust me u feel like a loser standing out in the cold by urself because ur body craves nicotene. But with all that said, the question was should smoking be banned clubs and bars completely. i say no fukin way. you forgot where ur freedom starts, ur choice of where u go out at night. Its not some drunk assholes freedom to accidentily knock into me every 5 feet, but i know going to a packed club its probably gunna happen. U know going to a packed club ur gunna smell like and inhale smoke. My advice to u is go to one of the many places i posted above, because ill tell ya if i was scared of juiceheads i sure as hell wouldnt go to clubs. Maybe when a club gets too packed and "I" feel unsafe, we can ban juiceheads too. Smokin sections are fine but a complete ban in a party atmosphere is ridiculus. One more thing walkin into a club with dogshit all over urself would be much more dangerous then second hand smoke so for ur sake please dont try it to spite me.
