Well poor Johnson and Schilling have been hurt otherwise they would have definitely made it..But Atlanta definitely stole the spotlight this year along with St. Louis.. Matsui was around 5th or 6th in the voting for most of the balloting but because he's been on fire for the past few weeks, his voting sky rocketed him up to 2nd place behind Ichiro. He was rookie of the month, etc.. etc..Personally, I did not vote for him.Some of the STL players deserve to be All-Stars (i.e. Pujols with his triple crown) but I don't follow the NL as much as I do the AL so I wouldn't really be able to comment on all of them. FlipsSOE Posted July 7 Report Share Posted July 7 benitez leads the league in blown saves. any time u lead the league in a statistical category, your automatically in. as for matsui, hes now the leader in RBI for the yankees squad, and he leads all AL rookies in RBI, and amongst the leaders in HR. he deserves it. his defense has been solid. and although i'm not sure if they keep track of this stat, I would bet he leads the league in grandslams. i remember him hitting 3 thus far this season. the cards have many good individual players, same as the braves. while the giants win the old fashioned way. team game.the biggest injustice to me was dontrell willis not being on. sure he's 20, and he'll have many more chances down the road to make the team. but you can't deny the kind of season he's having. def not fair.
