Friday July 18, 2003, DCNC will be hosting a fundraiser featuring internationally renowned DJ

D:FUSE

As a DJ, D:FUSE has been spinning all over the USA, Canada and Mexico. His first mix CD, 'Psychotrance 2000,' was released in September 1999, was followed up with 'Psychotrance 2001,' and then 'Progressive Mix Volume One'. When D:FUSE's skills came to the attention of Paul Oakenfold, Oakenfold was so impressed that he offered D:FUSE the opening DJ slot on two North American Perfecto tours. This gave D:FUSE the opportunity to expand his horizons and establish his name with huge audiences.

D:FUSE's latest project, People_2: Both Sides of the Picture, a 2xCD mix for System Recordings, is the sequel to People. The double-disc set features 5 never before released tracks from the Texan prodigy. The downtempo mix on CD1: People Chilling showcases tracks from the likes of Feel and Mark Horwood, alongside three of D:FUSE's own productions. "I've never released a mix like this at all," D:FUSE comments of CD1. "It's chill music but it's not meant as a background medium; It's very intricate and musical and is really built for active listening." CD2: People Clubbing features a high-energy mix designed to encompass the club feel, opening with Scanners feat. D:FUSE "Music is About You" and closing with a D:FUSE cover of U2's New Year's Day. CD2 is "probably the hardest CD I've ever released," D says.

Why should you support:

- To help educate the public about the abuses by Neighborhood Associations that cause the death of nightlife here in DC.

- To stop legislation that severely restricts the ability of venues to offer nightlife activities such as live music, DJs and dancing
