vipnerd Posted August 4 Report Share Posted August 4 Nite starts of at Bed ... for Bedtime Sessions ... missed by a minute the opening set of Nelson ... sorry bud ... Francesco and Avila were tagging ... nice looking crowd ... nice choons ... felt like a big family in there ... reminded me of the start of our party ... lots of future for these two guys ... bumped into Erickittel ... Pod and Fostech ... a fresh alternative ... Swang by Mirage ... Austin had just finished his set ... the following DJ was throwing down hip-hop ... this prevented me of exploring the venue ...Decided to check Lounge 16 ... it was like 3:15 ... nite was over ... So now ... what can we do on Saturday in Sobe? ... decided to go to my old home on Saturdays ... Crobar ...Place was busy ... main floor not packed ... but full ... Cedric Gervais throwing down some progressive trance ... horrible ... crowd enjoying it ... not my kinda crowd (nothing against medianoches) ... not my kind of music ... even the sound system which I used to love was a disaster ... i think CG likes low ends a la hip-hop ... no highs ... no mids ... Matt Martines in the VIP ... entertaining a full house (not packed either) ... not a VIP crowd at all ... that is ... to Crobar's standards ... still fun enough ...Felt really nostalgic at Crobar ... it is coming back to your old house and seeing how things have changed in a matter of months only ... didn't stay even an hour ... the old staff is 80% gone ... that was the staff Kenny used to praise as the success of his club ... do I need to say more? ...So nothing really happening in Sobe ... so dt is the destination ...Got to Space around 4:15 ... Luis Diaz was in the mainroom ... I just walked thru to the terrace ... where Roly was throwing down some really nice beats ... and had the terrace quite packed ... nice seeing Biz ... Nickjunkie ... Austin Leeds ... Livin42nite ... to finally meeting Nexusgroove ... Left around 5:45 to NV ... to check out the Ivano afterhours ... btw ... it was my first time to NV ... NV had around 300 peeps there ... was told earlier the place was empty for David Padilla ... that is my forecast for the early part of the nite if they keep DP ... nothing personal ... his time .. and following are long gone ...Ivano ... played the right music ... very good selection ... had the energy built in the place ... I can tell he is working his sets with detail ... to bulit the nite around a big - dark room as oppossed to a sunny patio/terrace ... As to the crowd at NV ... good looking crowd ... but by the time I left it had thinned considerably ... the VIP is nice and saw several tables popping champagne ... NV has the potential to grab a VIPish crowd I don't see at Space ... but is this crowd up for 5 more hours of banging music inside a dark room? ... maybe some of them ... girls were hot thou ... a mustCame back to Space at around 7:30 am 'til around 10 am ... Oscar G was throwing down the best house I could think of for a Sunrise Session ... OG even banged techno ... which revitalized the energy of the peeps dancing ... but made many who didn't feel it leave ... continuing with the housier side is the secret IMHO ... OG suits PERFECT on that terrace ... quality house ...Sunrise was packed ... the crowd completely renewed from the one at Lunar Sessions ... good looking crowd ... felt like Ibiza ... no jokes ... very few NV peeps that rolled over to Space ...In summary ... for what I saw this morning ... NV has attracted a different crowd than which gathers at Space 34 ... they need to hold them longer thou ... And Space will benefit from the increased traffic in dt ... I had no problem with the Music it was great !!Went back to NV to check out their afterhours, your right greatVIP crowd. In fact the VIP room is Kick Ass, what about thoseloungy red double chaise's love them.OK but lets talk about the sound, they finally brought in Lord Toussaint of Infinite Audio and it sounds excellent.
