sigmagal
I read in another post that these aren't so good for your diet. I am looking at one now...Fat - 8 grams (Saturated - 4)Sodium - 105 MGTotal Carbs - 21g Fiber - 7g Sugars - 0Net Carbs - 2g 2 questions...1) What do they say count only 2 carbs? 2) I never eat a whole one (maybe 1/2 each day) Is this bad? elitesnautica
They are sugar alcohols. Which is basically the same thing with a hydroxide (OH-) group added. They claim that b/c of this it does not act like carbohydrates.I have not seen any studies to know whether this is the case or not, but based on the theory, I dont see how that is possible.Nautica

sigmagal
I had hit a brick wall in my diet. I wasn't losing any weight. I cut out the Atkins bars and I have dropped about 3lb in less than a week.Bad little bars:mad: They make it sound like they are ok to eat, but obviously they are not. Did you cut out the bars entirely, or did you replace them with something else?If you just cut them out entirely, you lost weight because you're eating fewer calories, not because the bars are "bad". No I replaces them. I am actually trying the South Beach diet which is similar to Atkins. I can eat a mid morning snack and an afternoon snack. I used to eat a piece of the bar for one of those snacks.

Do you happen to know how many calories are in your current snacks, and how much was in the bars that you were eating?
