lalate
A lot of people have been asking, so here's a look back at some very memorable moments in LALate's 1st year ....Biggest Surprise as a Great PartyNYE Warehouse party. For $20 it was a huge bash with flame throwers, big screen tvs, lounges, the list goes on and on.Biggest Surprise as an Uncontrollable PartyThe night we carried a special party at Orion that opened at 10pm. We arrived at 9:15 and found no less than 3 city blocks of people in line, about 2,000 people.Cuttest MomentTalking with Family Ties' Tina Yothers for 1/2 hour during Gene Simmons' private party at the Key ClubSaddest MomentWhen we found out that Mariah Carey appeared at Goodbar the only week we hadnt attended in three weeks. Oh no!Happiest to Saddest MomentTalking with Left Eye Lopez at Snatch weeks before her passing. She was so nice.Hardest Event to Name"Here's Snatch". We tried "Snatch @ Here" ... "The Here Snatch" .. nothing worked lol.Event We Never Named"Fellat...." ... it was the private opening of Forbidden City. Why they used that name, we have no clue.Biggest Line-CutterJay Z. He did it 3 times in weeks - but hey, he can. He's Jay Z.Hardest Venue to Pronounce"Dorscia"... was it DORSHA or DorSEEa? We still don't knowStrangest Venue Name Change"Moomba" to "Dorscia". Biggest Missed PartyMemorial Weekend Warehouse Party. Best party for the holiday ever, but no one else went.Biggest Missed VenueHacienda. We pushed it and pushed it but no one ever cared.Night We Will Never ForgetWhen we carried Ludacris Live at the Highlands no cover and across at Cinespace at the same time Monica and Wycleff Jean -- all performing live with no cover.Night we Wish to ForgetWhen we carried an Arena Magazine Premiere party and a private party at the Falls on the same night. The Arena party turned out to be a kareokee event with a guy with a tail and leapord outfit, and the Falls fell to only 12 patrons, most being subpromoters.Night that was Missing SomethingNovember Thursday @ AD. 50 people in the venue.Night that Offered alotSame night at AD when a bored crowd of women started offering lapdances.Night that Made No SenseThe Movie Premiere Party at Dorscia that offered Candy Bars.Night that Made No Sense - Part 2The private opening of Forbidden City that offered a Draq Queen show of 6'7'' amazons. Why?Night We Never ListedA private party for an Actress at White Lotus. No one had ever heard of her (and to this day, never has).Biggest Surprise SuccessWet T-Shirt Contest Party at Guys. A small venue we thought. Little did we realize what "wet t-shirt" did -- we sent more people to that party than we could ever expect.Quickest Venue Fall offReign, Beverly Hills. One week with an open vodka bar at 10-11 and no cover on a Saturday -- stunning crowd, dancing all night Next week, same vodka bar -- no one dancing, everyone left at 12 pm. Best Beverage Sponsor TimeReign Beverly Hills. Any open bar to 11pm deserves a medal.Strangest Beverage Sponsor TimeGene Simmons Open Bar party for Tongue Magazine - approx 7:30 to 9 pm. The party was done at 9:30 pm.Worse Love NightThe night former Lakers' Robert Horrey was sitting around without any girls talking to him.Best Love NightThe same night Jerry Buss had beautiful women all around him.Funniest Lottery NightThe night we won 24 tickets to Ivar, and only 80 people were in the venue. The Night the Bar beat the ClubNo one at Shelter, so we walk over to Dublins, and in rolls Derrick Fisher and a ton of others.Biggest "Now that's a Waste" NightWhen we went into the VIP lounge in Ivar that was gorgeous but there was only 5 other people allowed into it. What a waste.
