...That's all relative...To be quite honest, Timo Maas (or however you spell it) doesn't do much for me...at all...

yeah, but ourt local djs should have a shot at these venues. I mean what if you were a dj and was asked to spin there. Would you? Of course you would. Great venue & sound is a honor for a dj.

lol

I was just playing about Marques Wyatt...lol

being sarcastic due to the post above mine when he asked if the promoter even knew who he was promoting for.

The promoters/crowd on Fridays are mostly onto the harder sound. Exit, Roxy etc...

Marques Wyatt is Deep, Sexy West coast house...2 elements that probably should not be mixed together.

I just think the bookings and the promotion team are not quite on point with each other. Marquis fits more the GBH at Centro sound and crowd...not the "Sexy" at Roxy sound/crowd.

But hey it is exposing them to new music...so that there is a good thing.

**oh and my boy Melvin Moore is gonna unleash some nasty beats on Avalon after Marquis is done...I can guarantee that.

I was a exit, sf, roxy head for a while and i do like hard beats. I think its cool to hear a lil something from the west coast maybe it will catch on in the city who knows..

I dont know. In moy opinion NY is dead. Not only is the scene not what it used to be, it just isnt worth going to anymore.

I remember like 2 - 5 years ago if you wanted a job DJing you had to give your demo to who ever booked DJs and if you played good music, could program the musicright, and matched the beats good you stood a good chance of getting a DJ job. It didnt matter if you brought 1 person, 10 people, or 100 people, and ALL of your friends got in free.

Now: all you have to do to get a job DJing is bring pepople, but now your friends have to pay, and it is not about talent at all. Some promoters dont even ask for demos anymore. After all, "Sorry Ian, its not about tallent anymore, it's about bringing people."
