weyes Posted October 22 Report Share Posted October 22 it is necessary to own a car. l.a. is really spread out, for one thing, so taking cabs would cost a fortune. traffic would also up the fares. and you need a car to get just about everywhere, so you'd need a couple of rides a day, if you planned to do that... maybe if you had your own chauffeur, things would work out ok, but that gets pricey, too ...
