Guest jazzylight
hey all,i'm thinking of moving to london after graduation and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the graphics/design/web industry over there, or had any contacts etc. and does anyone have any recommendations for living accomodations over there, what area is the best and safest for twentysomethings, etc? thanks, and have a good day-j
bigpoppanils
good luck getting a company to sponsor you for employmentyou may be able to get over there without a sponsorshiip, but it is very hard try here for more informationhttp://www.britainusa.com/as for neighborhoods, it all depends on your budget. Renting in London is very expensive. You will probably ending up having to share flat. Notting Hill, Islington, Golders Green, and Kilburn are areas that i can think of that are safe and are somewhat reasonable in terms of rent prices. I know there are probably others, but I did not get to explore london as much as I wanted to when I was there.if you have money, Kensington and Hampstead are great! i can tell you to avoid Tottenham Hale and Brixton. Scary places.
lorelai604
as an american, (which i am assuming you are?) london is VERY expensive. i've lived there and was lucky enough to be set up with a flat in kensington at a decent rate. definately have somewhere to live before you go, don't depend on hostels, i've heard a great deal of them are pretty icky.
