Collective's Mo-Do imprint and currently one of my favorite vinyls comes from the production outfit of Italian producer Lorenzo Giannecchini and singer songwriter Constanza Mansueti. 'Could I See' brings together solid house grooves with a stunning vocal performance that is very reflective of M.A.S. Collective's style, so it's not surprising it's ended up on their cool Italian label. Big vibrant stabs and some tough tribal style drums start off the 'Original Mix', with Constanza's vocals drifting aimlessly over the top, edging in slowly until the main groove the mix provides the platform it needs to reveal itself fully. Floating in and out of the beats, backing sounds add a tense edge, the vocal still manages to command a stunning presence, really coming into it's own as the beats down and a sublime solo continues on, with a big house vibe bringing into all together in a rather fresh and innovative fashion. The first remix G-Pal brings to the package is the 'Twisted Dub' and it lives up to it's name and then some. Starting off with some quirky beats and loops, the mood soon shifts into a subtle groove where a dubbed out slant on the vocal appears. Everything drops out as the atmospherics take over, sweeping across the groove, paving the path for the eerie bassline that rises right out of the depths, with a rather ill and foreboding vibe turning the subtleness into something dark and moody, with all the G-Pal trademarks making this another superb mix from one of Greece's finest. A rather fine outing from Mo-Do, with G-Pal showing off with his never ending production genius as usual, and with another take from him alongside M.A.S.
