CNBC PR: "Dennis Miller" 1/26/04

‘DENNIS MILLER’ TO DEBUT ON CNBC JANUARY 26

Hour-long Topical Primetime Talk Show to Air Monday-Friday and Sunday, 9-10 p.m. ET/PT

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., December 10, 2003 – Beginning Monday, January 26, 2004, five-time Emmy Award winner Dennis Miller will bring his blazingly sharp comedic take on serious issues in his trademark take-no-prisoners, suffer-no-fools style to his new CNBC hour-long topical primetime talk show. "Dennis Miller" will air Monday – Friday and Sunday, 9-10 p.m. ET/PT.

Blasting hot-button issues with his pragmatic venting, Miller will highlight current events with a "Daily Rorschach," a high-speed blitz of monologue jokes, news photos and videotape clips. Topic-specific guests will appear as philosophical sparring partners, and then matters will move on to a panel drawn from the worlds of news, entertainment, politics and business.

"We're having a blast working with Dennis on this new program, and its great to have the team for the show finalized," said Pamela Thomas-Graham, President and CEO, CNBC. "Come January, 'Dennis Miller' will bring a new kinetic energy to our primetime lineup."

Miller will serve as host and executive producer of the program. Miller began his extensive career as a standup comedian and he soon was featured on a larger platform as a regular on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" from 1985-91. In 1994, Miller launched his HBO weekly series "Dennis Miller Live," which garnered five Emmy Awards and three Writers Guild Awards.

In addition, Miller has hosted the "43rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards" and "MTV Video Music Awards." From 2000-2002, he made headlines when he joined the celebrated announcing team of "NFL Monday Night Football." Last spring, he wrote and starred in the Emmy-nominated cable comedy special, "The Raw Feed," his sixth such special. Additionally, Miller often appears on many politically oriented television talk shows. Among Miller's feature-film credits are "Murder at 1600," "Disclosure," "Joe Dirt," and "The Net."

Eddie Feldmann, also a five-time Emmy Award winner and who served as both executive producer and head writer of HBO's "Dennis Miller Live," will be senior producer and head writer of "Dennis Miller." Most recently, Feldmann was executive producer of "The Orlando Jones Show" on FX. He has written and produced many specials including, "Dennis Miller – The Millennium Special," Comedy Central's "State of the Union Address" and "The MTV Inaugural Ball." In addition, Feldmann was an episodic writer for four installments of NBC's Emmy award winning series, "Law & Order".

"Dennis Miller" will be produced by NBC Studios, and will be taped at NBC's Burbank Studios.

CNBC's current 9 p.m. ET/PT programs, "Special Report with Maria Bartiromo" (Monday) and "Capital Report with Alan Murray and Gloria Borger" (Tuesday-Friday) will now air at 7 p.m. ET.

I actually like Dennis Miller, believe it or not. I think he's a very funny and intelligent guy. This show is perfect for his career. One thing is he should stay away from the sports commentating and acting cause he was horrible. Bordello of Blood was a shitty display of acting but maybe it was because anyone looks horrible oppositte of Corey Feldmen.

Good for him.
