britchick69
Hello.. okay here's the thing i'm doing a presentation on The higher state of consciousness - the history of Ecstasy' and just wondered about people's opinions...Do you think the the consumption of E has increased more between 1987 to 1999 or between 2000 to 2004????Also do you feel that E has become and vital part of dance music/club culture?thanks to whoever answers x
crowina
i think the numbers for e consumption have gone down from what i've seen. k,g, tina, ect. seem to have replace the desire for e.
housedog
I would say that E use is down compared to the mid 90's. At least here in NYC, E blew up in the mid 90's and died down 99-00. People still do it but the other drugs all ready mentioned took over the clubs
bumpdaddy
I'm assuming you're talking about new york ... I think pill use has been increasing since 2000 only because the quality of the pills went downhill and people are taking alot more pills than they would have in the 80's and 90's ... I remember when people used to split a pill... now i know people who take 2 or 3.. Theres also more access to pills then there was back then.. and prices have dropped.. E is on the way out tho and like everyone else is saying other drugs... K .. meth .. etc.. are taking over. This link has some info you might be able to use http://thedea.org/statistics.html

trance643
it prolly increased more during 87-99 since more people were trying it for the first time as compared to now when everyone knows about it. in terms of whether or not its a vital part of dance music/club culture i dont think so at all. sure it goes great with loud music and the whole nightclub environment but alot of people go to places like that just for the music and e kind of gives everyone a bad rap. if people wanna do it thats cool but its fucked up to think everyone in a club is on it or goes to a club just for that reason, of course exceptions do exist but im talking about majority here.
