Lisa Lashes In Avalon

Recommended Posts

Every1 is excited about Cox/Picotto/Gabriel & Dresden, Tall Paul etc in Avalon. Somehow every1 chose to overlook something that can turn into a very legendary appearence. I am talking about Lisa Lashes. This would be the first time that a DJ of a such caliber in a style that is heard the least in NYC will appear in one of the city's hottest venues. And noone is excited? Does any1 know who Lisa Lashes is?

Judging from the "confirmed" line up post March 19th. However I wasnt able to confirm the date on her website. Her website shows that she will do the tour with agency that has offices in NYC. So there is a good possibility she will be here.

Yeah, she spins that 200bpm crap you need to be tweaking to enjoy.

Of course coming from a resident of a country where it was born. Remember something though, on East Coast USA and especially New York City (dominated by house) noone even know what UK Hard House is. I personally enjoy Lisa sets tremendously, but than again I do not see/hear her every weekend. The energy levels in UK Hard House only come close to Hard Techno.

Where? We must have lived in two different cities. And you sure you are not confusing NY Hard House with UK Hard House? Because if I recall correctly UK HARD HOUSE DID NOT EXIST 6 years ago!!!

I personally don't like it because its too hard, especially when you wanna stop dancing and wanna chill

So you go to the other room. And honestly if you dont really like it how come you went to see her "number" of times? And no drugs are NOT necessary to enjoy the beats. Not everyone is on it you know.

This is actually Lisa Lashes' NYC debut...so get ready!

Here's her bio for those of you who are not familiar with her. She's already legendary in the UK and Ibiza. Get ready to get LASHED!

LISA LASHES BIOGRAPHY

www.djlisalashes.com

DJ Lisa Lashes is hailed throughout the world as the undisputed Queen of Hard House. Lisa’s tireless dedication to the hard style has made her not only a superstar in her native UK, but also the world’s most popular female DJ. Lisa is the first and only female to be considered among the top ten DJs in the world by DJ Magazine, ranking ninth in 2000 and continuing as the top-ranking female DJ in 2001, 2002, and 2003. The Lisa Lashes mixed albums, Hard House Euphoria (2002) and Extreme Euphoria Vol. 2 (2003), also achieved the status of highest selling hard house compilations in the world. Most recently, Lisa conquered Ibiza with her own Lashed in Ibiza nights at Eden, packing in the crowds with her superb technical skills and explosive musical style. “Whatever style of house it is, I play it hard and dirty; it’s my favourite way!â€

Lisa Lashes’s first gig was at a boat party on the River Severn in 1996, where she was discovered by Madders (Polysexual, formerly of Sundissential) and quickly given her first residency. From there, Lisa added further residencies and regular club nights at the most prestigious clubs in the UK, including Base, Escape, Euphoria, Eat Your Words, Frantic, Fully Charged, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Golden, Goodgreef, Hotdog, Koolwaters, Naughty But Nice, Progress, Radioactive, ROAR, Scream, Slinky, Storm, Temple Theatre, The Met, Tidy, and Transaction. Since 2000, Lisa has also headlined all of the top festivals — Godskitchen Global Gathering, Homelands, Tidyweekender, Tidy Magna, Creamfields UK and Ireland, Homelands, Knebworth, Escape Into the Park, and Gatecrasher Summer Sound Systems—while at the same time playing numerous special events, including 2FM in Ireland, Godskitchen and Sundissential University Tours, Radio 1 - One Live in Nottingham, Radio 1 - One Live in Brighton.

Lisa has as also displayed her ferocious skills in locales around the globe. She claimed another ‘first’ on the Slinky in Heineken Tour in China as the only female DJ to have played to a crowd of over 5,000 in that country. In South Africa, Lisa performed at sold-out shows of 12,000 in Cape Town and 20,000 in Johannesburg as part of the Camel Cigarettes Tour. Lisa has also toured the United States, Canada, and Australia, while making appearances in Brazil with Guess Clothing, Tenerife, and Corfu.

One of Lisa’s most important accomplishments in 2003 was the successful launch of Lashed in Ibiza www.lashedibiza.com For several years, Lisa has held residencies in Ibiza, the summer’s hottest club location, playing Godskitchen, Judgement Sunday’s, Slinky, and Tonic, to name a few. Lisa, however, wanted to create something completely unique, “to put the fun back into the party.†For 15 weeks in summer 2003, Lisa did just that, bringing her furious brand of music to legions of grateful clubbers. For Lisa, “It has to be the most amazing project I have ever been involved with.â€

The next stage involves bringing Lashed to an even greater global audience. To further this goal, Lisa has teamed with Nettwerk Management, whose international experience will help to cement Lisa Lashes as a top world DJ and Lashed as a premiere dance event. Beginning in 2004, Lashed will travel to China, Korea, Canada, New York City, Miami, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. To all UK fans, however, Lisa says, “I’m not leaving anyone, because hard house and the stuff I play in the UK is still massive here, so there’s no reason for me to go away. I just want to go abroad to show them our style.†In fact, Lisa has already brought Lashed back home to the UK. In December of 2003, Lashed in Coalville was a sold-out event, and upcoming London and Liverpool shows in early 2004 promise to reach the same height of success – www.lasheduk.com

It is impossible, however, for Lisa’s talents to be constrained to DJing alone. She has produced Tidy’s two biggest-ever selling hard house tracks, “Unbelievable†and “What Can You Do 4 Meâ€, along with “Lookin’ Good†and “Dance 2 The House (Don’t Go)†for Tidy, “We Came We Saw†for Sundissential, and “Give It All You’ve Got†for The Originator. In addition, Lisa’s mixed albums for Tidy, Slinky, Mixmag, and Euphoria, which include a gold disc for Hard House Euphoria and a silver disc for Extreme Euphoria Vol. 2, have been acclaimed by critics and embraced fans. Future releases include studio collaborations with BK, the biggest hard house producer in the world and many more!

Rest assured that whatever Lisa Lashes does, she does it hard and dirty, it’s her favourite way!

After UK Hard House hits NYC (I am sorry all Jules fans but I still think he is too soft to be considered hard) all we will be missing actually is the Hard Style with DJs such as Technoboy, Dana, Luna, Pavo just to name a few. It will be definately a good night at Avalon. The only question is who will be opening for Lisa?

UK Hard House is something like Nu-NRG. Bouncy beats. It some good shit but never blew up in NYC and its a damn shame. I'll be there. If you don't like it don't go.

:werd:

Although Nu-NRG is still more Hard Trance and Hard House And Lisa Lashes specifically is more Hard Dance these days (harder, faster, more progressive). I think actually UK enthusiasts themselves admitted that Hard House does not exist anymore in its pure form and morphed into Hard Dance WHICH IS TOTALLY FINE BY ME!!!!
