Uncle Ming's

When you take a former illegal after hours club, switch the velvet rope to velvet cushions, add a hip, young clientele and take the inspiration of Asia to make decorations, you’ve got Uncle Ming's.

Alphabet City is full of hidden gems and this venue is yet another one that is shining bright.

From the outside it looks dark and dingy, but after you walk up the flight of stairs (it’s on the second floor of a building) it feels like you enter a party room out of a Chinese palace. It’s sinister, sinful and sexy.

Music ranges from dark, groovy tunes to fast beats that have patrons swaying in the small space Uncle Mings designates for a dance floor.

The clientele - everyone from the bartenders, DJ’s and patrons - are very sociable. The atmosphere is very laid back earlier in the evening and gets more electrifying as the night goes on.

Bottom Line: It is a little piece of Chinese Royalty
