Rumour is that the club is due to besold to the the guys at Home. The New YorkTimes recently announced the death of a21- year-old Twilo clubber, James Wiest,who reportedly lost consciousness inside theclub and died later in hospital. The deathcomes at a time when Twilo is still fighting atwo-year-old lawsuit brought by the PoliceDepartment's Civil Enforcement Divisionrelating to a previous drug casualtyallegedly connected to the club. Twilo saidtheyhad been making concerted efforts toeliminate drug dealing from the venue. Danny Howells is due to join Junior Vasquezfor a bi-monthly Saturday night residency.Vasquez seems to have mellowed in his oldage, having once been notoriouslypossessive of his DJ booth. He has had DJs -Tenaglia in the most scandalous incident -kicked out of his clubs who were just there tolisten: actually sharing a night's billing issomething of a first. A Twilo spokeman said:"Danny Howells is definitely one of the mostexciting DJs in the world at the moment.We've been watching him for a while nowand I believe the time is right for Danny tomake his mark in New York. He's one of onlya handful of DJs that could possibly workwith Junior." Danny has recently launchedhis monthly Nocturnal Frequencies clubnightat Ministry Of Sound while his GlobalUnderground Nubreed mix album is out onBoxed at the 28th of August.NEWS, Last Friday Cops busted 78 revelersand workers at some of the city's hottestnightclubs in a series of undercover raidsaimed at the widespread sale of Ecstasy,police said. A small army of NYPD officersand drug-sniffing dogs swooped down at 11nightspots, including the trouble-plaguedTunnel, late Friday night and earlyyesterday after club patrons and employeessold drugs to undercover narcotics cops,officials said. Among the clubs raided were:the Social Club, 302 E. 2nd St.; the Roxy,515 W. 18th St.; Twilo, 530 W. 27th St.;Cheetah, 12 W. 21st St.; Ohm, 16 W. 22ndSt.; Speed, 20 W. 39th St.; Exit, 610 W. 56thSt.; and the Sound Factory, 618 W. 46th St.The operation's largest seizure was at Vinyl,at 6 Hubert St., where seven patrons and twoemployees were arrested and over $13,000cash and several hundred pills of Ecstasywere seized.Hope that Danny is able to chill the city of NY a bit....
