vampienyc10
I used to go there year ago..It was pretty cool back then. The last time I was there and quite frankly was surprised that it was still even opened, was like last winter.. It was ok.. just a lot of corny people. Music was Ok. not the best.------------------------------------------@vampienyc10vampie@aol.com "One is not born a woman, one becomes one."- Simone de Beauvoir

ibhugh
I've seen Don Giovanni in San Francisco. Very good opera to start out with. Not too long. That is the main problem with operas, they tend to be extremely long. Do not go to see a Wagner Opera. Those take the cake in length. My advice would be see a Mozart opera first. I may be a little biased as Mozart is my favorite composer, but his works are amazing and the operas themselves don't put you to sleep. I know Le nozzi di Figaro (the marriage of Figaro) was playing at the Met. Don Giovanni is playing there. There are some other operas playing there as well, I think Bizet's opera, Carmen is one as well as something by Debussey (at least was). La Boehme is playing there (what "rent" was based on). La Traviata and others are playing there as well...Have fun
