michy47
Has anyone been to this? I never heard of it before - supposedly they have DJs every Saturday afternoon. Any comments? What kind of music?
bigpoppanils
music varies from house to breaks to technotry to get there early...lines usually build very quicklywhat is nice about PS1 is that if you are not enjoying the dj that is on, you can go look through their large art collection
kfitz73
It's not for everyone. The music is very eclectic. You have to go in with an open mind. The weather obvoiusly impacts the event too...

kitty19
PS1, a museum at a former elementary school and now an extension of MOMA, is a great way to spend saturday afternoon chillin' to dope beats. the party takes place outdoors in their concrete courtyard, which takes on a new twist each year. once they had huge hammocks with fans blowing water. last year they had a mini kiddie pool in the middle with lots of fans. this year, it looks they kept up the cool mist idea.the beers used to be $2! dayam. they increased this to $5, so i hear. it's a great way to hear new sounds, beats, DJs that you normally wouldn't go hear. for $8, how can you go wrong.don't wear your nicest threads, you'll get sweaty and dirty. the crowd, mainly brooklyn hipsters but still a lot of fun. i've seen families, old folks all gather so it's a really chill atmosphere. when you get hot, make sure you go inside into the air conditioned museum and take a look around. it's pretty nice what they have in there.
