djrx06
clubrat88 this addresses your need at the point temporarily. At least, you have two potential all stars in Pierce and Payton. Address the need at Center and you will be aight. Sooner or later you will need another point.
pookie23
Payton is washed up....they're gonna take the bullet this year to free up some cap space in 2005
JonStephen
Payton is washed up....they're gonna take the bullet this year to free up some cap space in 2005very true, but immediately its better for the Celtics too. Having Payton start at point is way better then Chucky Atkins.Celts still need a center.....Raef maybe?

djrx06
Payton is washed up....they're gonna take the bullet this year to free up some cap space in 2005Payton sucked ass last year because he was option number 4 in the offense when he was used to being option #1 in seattle. IMO, he has 2 good years left in him. He's gonna get more looks and more chances to develop a shooting rythym....
JonStephen
I agree w/ the 1st quote but the 2nd one is laughable at best.who else to the C's have at center?besides, Raef is better than Chris Mihm bottom line is C's still need a big name

clubrat88
mark blount by the way, but he vastly improved last year....raef and paul have the kansas connection so they know each other al jefferson the rook and then k perkins the big man from last year and they got some 7 footer brown too...lots of inexperience there with them three...they play walter at the 4 or 5 sometimes too which leaves, welsch, davis, payton, west and allen for the 1 and 2 and pierce, fox and jones at the 3 spot...not bad if the three rookies pan out as well as they looked in summer league but remains to be seen....def lessens the pressure on paul and provides instant veteran leadership...just hate to see banks develop into another billups type player....also does free up lots of cap room for next year when gasol, parker, kirilenko, randolph and abdur-rahim are free agents....just hope ainge is making the right moves, too early to tell but it seems to be a slight improvement for this year with slots of upswing for next off season....
