SIRIUS or XM satellite radio?

Recommended Posts

I have XM in my car. I think its the best thing to come out since fat girls on mopeds ! lol j/k

Seriously, a friend of mine has Sirius and there isnt much of a difference. XM does have more stations though. Check out this link regarding satellite radio.

I live in Miami Beach and we have some of the best radio stations anywhere down here and ever since I got my XM, I havent turned to regular radio since then.

Enjoy!

here is what i picked up doing a sirius promo last weekend:

xm has 2 stationary sattelites over the us.

sirius has 3 sattelites orbiting in a figure 8 between canada and mexico.

eventually the coverage will extend into those areas.

even for now that gives a bit clearer coverage to sirius customers.

i guess xm charges a premium for some of its channels?

dont know how true that is, but sirius includes all 120 channels in its monthly price.

if you are into football, they also have an exclusive contract with the nfl to broadcast all games this upcoming season to its listeners so no matter what team you like or where you are you would never miss a game.

lastly, xm is owned by clear channel and has some restrictions as to programming.

sirius is a publicly owned company and has a lot more freedom in broadcasting.

whew... imagine saying that over and over for 10 hours straight?

hey raz.. dont mean to be picky but I am pretty sure that xm is a public company as well. i have it on my yahoo ticker..

and are you sure that clear channel owns them? i mean they are advertising now on Howard stern and i highly doubt that Howard would promote anything that clear channel owned...

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/mh?s=XMSR

with that. if you are a stern fan than i would go with XM. bc if they are paying for ads now.. they are proabably courting him for when his contract runs out. I bought my bf XM radio for xmas and he loves it. we only listens to WFAN for regular radio now.

in the car that i am getting . i can have sirius installed from the factory. if i wanted to get xm ... i'd have to get it installed at a best buy type of place and i'd rather not have that stupid controller mounted on the dashboard. so i think i am leaning toward the sirius.

i wish opie & anthony were going to sirius. i love those guys

hi sue!

well i know only what they told me for the promo i was doing....

i have no experience with either.

but we were DEF told clear channel owned XM.

maybe they lied!

i am sure if i had been doing a promotion for XM i would have facts that weigh heavily in their direction.... you know how it is! :D

i have no clue what is played out on the regular radio.

i never tried out the sirus, so i cant tell you waht is better

but im mad happy with xm, but what i do know is that

you can hear dj's like mendez and peters on sirius,

but xm has like tiesto, pvd, some subliminal/sondos dj's,

howells. and others.

get SIRIUS...you will hear more NYC based DJ's and also a ton of AWESOME DJ's across the country. If your into Dance...sirius is much better. Also you will rarely have problems w/ reception because of the better coverage theyt have.

I have my own show saturday nights...stream 62 :)

Nice I hope ur right about the $20 thing cause I picked it up at $1.78 thanks to kudlow and krammer about 2 1/2 months ago when they first announced the deal between sirius and a major car manufacturer. Im holding on to my shares of sirius even though my escalade got XM. :bounce:

I initially went with sirius because they had more dance stations - never tried XM so I can't say how they compare, I'm happy with sirius. Haven't listened to a local radio station in 2 years since I've had it, definitely worth it.

Besides the NFL, sirius has also announced deals with airlines and a few others, their stock is a definite buy right now.
