Was hard to imagine making it after the weekend we had already had, but we’d already taken Monday off from work, so what the hell. Got there around 6pm. Le Souk is a Moroccan styled restaurant and lounge with a dope 2 floor outdoor area. And even at only 6, it was absolutely jammin’ outside. Joe Mama was working some funky tribal house. Later Eli brought the funk and James (of Astro&Glyde) dropped some more progressive choons. The 3 tagged until about 9pm. By this time, the place was REALLY packed and the Sangria was flowing. Then Porter kicked off the tunes upstairs indoors and the party found its way up there. Mama, Eli and James played up there too, along with latecomers Tom Bartlett and Gaby (of Astro&Glyde). All the DJs kept the tunes housey and bumpin all day and night, and hardly a soul in the place could refrain from dancing. God only knows how many drinks were spilled, let alone drunk. Lots of peeps def got served on the dancefloor. And Dorian broke out the Elmo suit. The party raged on until 4am. I don’t know how these people do it every week and make it to work that morning. djjoemama Posted August 25 Report Share Posted August 25 Yeah we had a blast... First official gig as "The Plastic Sex Funk Band", and it went off better than expected. Sporter, Eli, & Tom all play in such a complimenatary way that we all filled in the gaps musically to bring in a much appreciated variety of sound...Lots of industry heads @ this party week in and week out, including the booking managers from Crobar NYC, Avalon NYC, & Godskitchen NYC, as well as the people that put together virtually every other party in NYC.LeSouk Sundays def gets a 10 outta 10...And you know it's a good party when you start out blonde and end up 'Brazillian Tan' Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

djjoemama Posted August 25 Report Share Posted August 25 From June - Labor Day it runs from 2PMish - 4AMish for the 'Summer Sessions'. All other times its from 8PM-4AM. There have been times however when it's been the venue for a 'Carry-On' from Sat night and we kicked it off @ 5-6AM Sun morning and went till 4AM Monday...
