rudeboyyouth
A few months ago, a little party called NATION was established in Commack, Long Island, only to have its success brought to a complete standstill because of problems with the location. This was really a shame, since the club had been developing a great reputation and rapport with true house heads on the Island. From the time the doors opened, the lineups were insane: Mike Macaluso & Peter Bailey, Low End Specialists, Chris & Kai, Eddie Baez, Sheldon Romero, Anthony Nero, Boris, Johnny Vicious, K.C. Andersen, Razor, and the weekly residency of Long Island’s own after-hours veteran, Rob James. The few heads on this board who frequented the spot really enjoyed themselves, and they all conceded that the party was unlike anything that had experienced on the Island in years. Everything, from the music, vibe, and dress code, right down to the admissions fee, was perfect. The party was really attempting to accomplish something genuine on the Island by going against the grain and sticking to a strict house music regimen. After months of uncertainty, the party has finally found a new home at 2686 Hempstead Turnpike (the old Luxe) in Nassau. The team behind the party is still trying to accomplish the same goal – maintaining a consistent house music venue in a place where hip hop more or less dominates the club scene. We have the weekly residency of Rob James once again. There isn’t much that needs to be said about him, and for those who have been lucky enough to hear him in the past, you know very well what kind of shit he’s capable of pulling out of his crates when he’s on the wheels of steel. However, this upcoming Friday night, team Nation is going to spice shit up a little bit by throwing Ritchie Santana into the mix for the reopening. So, now that Friday nights are officially stagnant on the Island, try to come down and show some support for the only party that’s actually trying to keep something great alive right here in our backyards. Those looking for a straight up night of house will not be disappointed in the least bit by this venue. This Friday, September 24th, team Nation will be kicking things off once again with Rob James and Ritchie Santana. The same policies are still in effect – come and enjoy yourselves, and leave the bottle service, strict dress codes, and bullshit door drama elsewhere. Come down, dance as long as you want, and enjoy a night of great music, plain and simple. Once again, the address is N A T I O N @ 2686 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, NY 11756.21+Strictly house; no hip hopNo dress code$15 w/o guestlist; $10 w/ guestlistEmail SanctuaryLI@yahoo.com for guestlist

JimmyZ
NATION was originally 18 & over ...... why 21 & over now ???
rudeboyyouth
Unfortunately, given the strictures of the new area / location, the creators of the party didn't really have much of a choice. Nation has always been willing to accomodate its loyal patrons, despite their ages, but unfortunately, this time around, things have to be a bit more strict. In no way are my comments intended to be rude, by the way, because the younger kats were very important to the development of Nation. It's the younger kats who continue to define the scene. mattm2o
Ok here is the reason behind the 21+ door policy...1. Out of all the partys we have done we may have had on any given night 10-20 people under the age of 21 in attendance.2. We lost ALOT of other patrons because we told people the party was 18 and over to get in. It may not happen in the city but on Long Island this can be suicide to a party.3. This time around we are not in our own home space, it is someone elses club we are guests of theirs, and for that we have to respect the management and the LIQUOR LICENCE of the club!If anyone has any questions or problems with anything please E-Mail me SanctuaryLI@yahoo.com
