Bling's Review of Edgar and Ferry Corsten @ Space

Just like one of the tracks Ferry played last nite "Surrender", the crowd at Space could do nothing more or less but surrender themselves to the onslaught of sounds that Ferry was about to unleash. This was my sixth time hearing Ferry this year alone. What I can say about Ferry, is that he is the most consistently good big name trance dj i have heard live. NO QUESTION!!!

I arrived early to Space to avoid the craziness at the willcall booth outside.Beforehand I had gone to pick up Juan (djspeed) at his house cuz he knows I always get there early and he wanted to get there early as well. (BTW THANKS FOR THE SCOTT PROJECT CD )

I was surprised to find it pretty empty and Nick Junkie was out there and got me my tix with no problems. Outside bumped into Damon and Dark Angel from TA and we talked a bit as we didnt want to go inside just yet and be trampled in the hip hop room. Outside, we also bumped into the lovely FallingMoon.

Inside I was surprised to see the main room already open so we all went inside.

Seansuz Set

It was my first time hearing a set of his and I found it to be pretty good. In all honesty, we had even talked by phone once and I didnt even know what the man looked like until tonite LOL.

He had good mixing skills and the small yet growing crowd was into it. The track selection was excellent. It was a bit too "hard" for me for an opening set but he then told me that he only had 45 min and wanted to "bring it nasty". That he did!!! In fact Edgar played in his afterhours set a track that Seasnz played in his opener. More on edgar's nnnassssssssty set afterhours set later.!!!!

Overall, I enjoyed seasunz set and def would not mind to see him open the main room or at least the hip hop room on regular nites at space before the main room opens.

Shoutouts

It was such a pleasure to hang with the gang of hardcore mofos that is the Tranceaddicts. Once again the TA's descended from all over this great state to show support for two of our favorite djs. Edgar and Ferry.

In the house was the aforementioned, Dark Angel (Raul), Damon (nice lookin chica u met. u got her number huh? ;) ) Suzy Solar and Lil B great to see u both again. (definitly the most dedicated ferry supporters I know.. always there for ferry). Miriam, Ambs (amber), (lost u guys, u two must have dipped early),Trancebrat and her brother(so great to see u both again). Great to finally meet the infamous Zewad from TA, Mattivi, Dr, Dave (like your hair bro), Tranceman, Ryan and RAchel (love your shirt, with ur name on back...... ;) BTW, lots of TA's made custom shirts with their screennames on back...... Great idea esp for those of you that dont post pics. Yeah, yeah i know what your thinkin " you do the same thing but u post pics" but................ f it..........!!!!

Also great to see of course Arturo, Harold, Ben, Renzo(where did u go bro? ),It was also a pleasure to meet the sexy ClubGoddess (love your dancing ohhhh yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh), Jessica, and of course Melly Mel (it was such a nice suprise to see u there sweetie and i had a blast hanging with u all nite.) I love your enthusiasm and your little screams when tracks u loved came on LOL

Edgar V opening set

I must say that I didnt really get into it at first. It was good but nothing mindblowing. But then like 30 min before Ferry took the decks the house music stopped and the trance started. The bombs began!! Edgar started to bring it nasty!!! Good shyte. The crowd was definitly into it.

One thing I must say about the crowd is that it never got that crowded all nite. There was a large crowd but never overwhelming. It was perfect all nite. I could only hope its like this for PVD but I definitly know that wont be the case.

Ferry Corsten set.

Ferry took teh decks around 1:30 am and ended around 6 am or so. He went 90 min longer then expected. I was happy :) 4.5 hrs is a great set time.

Lots of killer tracks throught the nite. Many of us throught the nite were commnenting how his set was similar to his set in New York a few weeks back ( i have the set..... massive), this set was nothing less..... Massive.

1) Kyoto -his opener -seems to be his choon of choice to open sets with

2) Jump the Next Train-overplayed by everyone but still like it

3) Como Tu-Carlos Vives (Paul Oakenfold remix)

4) No one on Earth (i love this track....... sang it along with Melly Mel)

5) Sweet Sorrow ( I think he played this not sure)

6) Above and Beyond present tranquility base - Surrender (original mix)

7) Synthesesia (Ferry Corsten)

8) BT-Force of Gravity (ferry corsten remix)- i was next to raul when he heard this..... OMG the transformation. He put his shades on and literally died in front of me... great track it got the crowd goin more crazy then they had all nite to that point.

9) "Love you" (ferry corsten mix)

10) Its Time (ferry corsten)

11) Right of Way (sick track as always.crowd ate it up)

Then the two choons that always gets a sick crowd reaction

12) Rock your body (OMG i died)

13) Punk (he finished off with this track I believe )

Sick track selection. Ferry is da man.

I want to thank Buster for getting me in the booth and getting me my pic with Ferry Corsten (whooooo hooooooooo, thanks a lot bro.... this time it will come out i got my own camera :)

Edgar V Afterhours

Definitly not for the faint of heart. The floor was pounding my ears were pulsating (with the earplugs) edgar brought it so freakin hardcore nasty. I loved it. Shame i only stayed 35 min but I have a long day today (if i didnt I would have stayed all morning). Every time I wanted to leave edgar just dropped anotehr sick bomb. THis one track was so awesome it had such a sick buildup. Started off nice and sweet and stuff then he threw it down. Edgar was crankin on those knobs, even started to kneel down then he pulled on that horn like no tomrorow !!! OMFG I DIE!!!! (koky you were right it was hard to leave.) IF this is how edgar plays afterhours I def cant wait for Nocturnal to open now. Left around 6:20 am or so, exhausted. Jessica, myself and eric (yes eric.... who told me he was waiiting all nite for edgar to drop the hardcore nastyiness) were still dancing our asses off !!! Right till the end.

Had a blast with all of you. The TA's are the most hardcore trance heads I know. Much respect to all of you. Till next time for PVDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I made it out to Space afterall ;) Had a great time! Edgar opening set was perfect way to start the night, Ferry set was awesome. He really surprised me towards the end of his set, I'd say the last hour or so; nice hardcore! I guess he was warming us up for mr Edgar V. Had to leave at 6:30 because of work  and I just got home. I've been up for 32 hours :shake:

It was all worth it tho :D

Bling should lend his head to space as a lighting effect. I am sure one of those spots could do some damage off of that shiny crome dome he got.

what a fucking annoying hater.....could your jealousy be any more obvious? sounds to me like you spend more time posting and hating on bling than you do actually in the clubs, where you WISH you could have even a miniscule amount of the incredible times we have here in our clubs. Maybe 1 day youll stop lurking and hating on the miami board and actually make a trip down here........FAKER BIATCHHHHHHHHH!

I think I rather hide behind my computer screen like Mrs. ToughGurl and be a hemorrhoidal parasite to Mr. Bling. And as for you why don't you go lick louis pigs loins and enjoy your clubs. Pwned again.

One.

Does it really get you off to make fun of people who are out and about on a weekend having a great time, when you are stuck at home watching fuzzy porn on TV from an illegal cable box? Seriously, stick to the drama boards, where you belong. This thread is for people who wanted to see a review of some of the best local and outside talent EDM/Trance has to offer, and here you are with a stupid comment and a 'plithy' comeback. Do yourself a favor and kindly go fck yourself, cause u are :ghey:

Now..where was I?

Nice to see alot of trance and EDM supporters out at Space. Arturo, Bling, Harold, Suzy Solar, Eric, etc.. I was glad it was not as stuffed as it was when PVD or Tiesto was here previously because the last thing i need is to be stuffed like a sardine in a room where the average person is on at least three beans.

the Music:

Seasunz: got there when he was playing..and although his set was not bad, some constructive criticism;

1- music selection was pretty dated and too hard for an opening set. I know from experience if you only have 45 mnutes (about 10 tracks) and try to bang it out, all the owner will do is laugh when you ask for a slot next time, no matter how many tickets you sell. there are other songs you could have played that are much more mellow that would gotten the crowd going without having to use the siren and the horn (ex. about a half hour into edgar's set..nice house that got the crowd jumpin!)

2- Mixing needed a little work but it is a pain in the arse getting used to a Rane especially at Space... I'm sure nerves played a big part in the initial mixes, when you first messed up by mixing a track in too quick. All in all though, it was good. Katana tracks are a great way to get the crowd up... esp his remix of Musika and his track One Solid Wave ;-)

Edgar: What can i say about him that most of you already know. he has alot of experience working the crowd at alot of big clubs, and this night was no exception. loved his southside remix of Murk- Time, as well as the massive blowup trance track he had right before ferry went on. SICK!

Ferry: This was the first time I had ever seen Ferry play live, and trust me , i doubt it will be my last! he played very different from the way i thought he would play, however. His tracklist included:

Young Parisians ft. Ben Lost- Jump the Next Train (Solarstone Mix)

Mirco de Govia- Voller Sterne

Ferry Corsten- Sweet Sorrow (Thrillseekers Mix, if im not mistaken)

Above and Beyond- No One on Earth

Ferry Corsten- It's Time

:D I'm sure you get the picture..i could go on but i won't. Case in point.. Ferry deserves to come down here more often! in fact, id like to see Luis get in contact with Purple Eye (or their management team..Dance Therapy) to see if we can have a Purple Eye Night, with Oliver Shine, Ronald Van Gelderen, Agnelli and Nelson, and Ferry here, much like he did for Tiesto for WMC with Ton TB and Cor Fijneman. That would be amazing. Just my .02 of course.

Oh yeah. lutzidara is :ghey: . Just thought I'd Mention that in case you all skipped down to the bottom of my message :hat:
