skytraveler
That includes weeklies and one offs. Ignite Thursday next Thursday will be our last at Lush Lounge.we hope to get everyone that has come in the past to return for one last shindig!!!On the tables for this last nite is one hell of a DJ, DJ PRIDE!!!DJ Pride was scheduled to be here on the first week of September but of course we were all going through a hurricane.SO we've managed to bring her back for our last nite of Ignite ThursdaysDJ Pride 'Pride Sets the Hearts of All on Fire...' Dante The Inferno It's not often a DJ throws out a line from Dante to capture the essence of her vibe, but Yvette Fernandez, a.k.a. DJ Pride, has always resisted pigeonholes. This clubchameleon is equally at home spinning to packed dance floors at House of Blues as she is working a steaming after-hours or saturating the air with her own blend of global sounds, tribal beats and up-lifting house at a Tea Dance. Butmake no mistake, every time Pride steps behind the turntables, she's placing her own indelible stamp on the music, drawing from both the international and USmusic scenes and incorporating her love of percussion into the mix. Her chosen professional moniker actually says more about her than people might think -- the New Jersey native happens to be a Leo, bringing more than a lion's share ofstrength and ferocity to every gig she plays. Pride's passion for dance music dates back to her colorful childhood illuminated by the final glow of Studio 54 and the heyday of legendary nightclubs such as Limelight, Sound Factory and The Tunnel She learned to spin in high school -- a hobby that quickly became a way of life by the time she reached college. In the mid-'90s, a series of successful private events in NYC propelled her to the next level, including local residencies and guest spots at landmark New York venues, such as Irving Plaza and The Tunnel. Appearances at Limelight and Mark Nelson's Boy's Nite followed. In the spring of 2001, Pride cranked up the heat on her career another notch with a move to South Florida. Her technical prowess andupbeat grooves made an instant impact: Salvation, Crobar, House of Blues, Firestone, Level (with Manny Lehman for White Party), Billboard Live T-Dance forWinter Party 2003 joined her rapidly expanding resume alongside NYC appearances at the Hammerstein Ballroom, THE ROXY and the Sullivan Room. DO NOT MISSTHIS!!!!and of course our resident DJ Soozin (pulseradio, radioX, new times best DJ nominee)NO COVER$4 Rum and Coke$5 apple martinis and CosmosALL NIGHT10pm-2amoakland pk blvd and A1A behind dennyswww.soozin.comwww.lushsouthflorida.comwww.jafoproductions.comwww.pulseradio.net
