GODSKITCHEN meets X'ESS…

featuring....

-main room-

TOM STEPHAN (UK)

[superchumbo, twisted]

Tom Stephan was born and brought up in upstate New York. After moving to London ten years ago to study film, he wanted to recapture the vibe created by Junior Vasquez during his clubbing days at NY’s Sound Factory. He released The Revolution under the Superchumbo moniker last year, prompting a flood of remix offers, including Missy Elliot, Kylie and Basement Jaxx. His remix of Yoko Ono will be her next single and is due for release later this year; he’s also worked the Superchumbo magic on Fierce Ruling Diva (The Sound Factory classic was originally retouched by Moby) and it’s Tom’s new mix that has stormed into Pete Tong’s cool cuts chart. And old friends Xpress2 came straight to Tom for a remix of ‘Muzikizum’.

YOUSEF (UK)

[junior london]

Originally spotted by Muzik Magazine through their famous Bedroom Bedlam competition * Yousef has been smashing dance floors every since. He was soon sited as one to watch by Muzik for 1999 * and Renaissance invited him to play in Ibiza.A representative for the Ministry of Sound heard him and signed him to Ministry of Sound Management on the spot. From a young lad he followed the dance scene * catching some of Carl Cox¹s and Prodigy¹s first rave sets that inspired him to get involved as much as he could.Once signed by Ministry of Sound he became a regular at both their Friday and Saturday night proving to all his versatility of style. He also became a regular at the award winning Media venue in Nottingham with Renaissance. The year took a turn for Yousef as Ministry of Sound Management closed * and he was signed by Erick Morillo¹s manager * and won Best Bedroom Bedlam DJ @ the 1999 Muzik Awards * so things were getting better and better. As 2000 kicked in, a residency at Cream with a room of his own began. As a native Liverpudlian it was a home coming pop stars dream about, and the residency began * providing an antidote of US / UK house music as the main roomed heaved with the trance craze. As the year progressed the fan base just grew and grew and so did the list of guests requesting a set there. Before the year was out * everyone from X-Press 2, Erick Morillo, Darren Emerson to rare first UK performances of people like Onionz and Joeski were playing and supporting the room and the man behind it. Yousef also went on stage at Creamfields England in front of 20 000 people and wowed the crowds, smashed Space and Pacha in Ibiza and his reputation grew which was crowned by delivering a hot mix for Pete Tong in December as one of the Stars of 2000 series, one of only four DJs to do so.

CHRIS SANTIAGO (Chicago)

[x’ess, half kiss, chris-santiago.com]

Chris has quickly established a devoted following in Chicago through his residencies at Zentra & Bigwig residencies in a few short years. He's played and rocked it with some of the biggest heavyweights in the industry including Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Kenny Dope, and Heather to name a few. His growing reputation in blending styles of smooth melodic deep house to hard hitting percussive techno is earning him a reputation of "knowing how to get the party started." Keep an eye out for this rising House DJ!
