JonStephen
yeah, yeah....they get Sosa. He's just another hitter in a lineup that is full of hitters, but they still have no pitching. Didnt we already witness this in Texas a few years ago?I predict sub .500 this year for the O's

pookie23
O's offseason has been terrible....they have a tom of money to spend and no one wants to go there. I can't blame them with the Yanks and Sox in the same division
kfitz73
It is really a shame. The Orioles used to be one of baseballs premier franchises. A lot of history in that team...
magellanmax
Oy Vey !! As bad as the Os are, they always find a way to terrorize the sox. Last year it was Javy,..now Sosa ?? FUCK !! That said, if they can atleast split the season series against the yamkees, its all gravy

fkornre
yep..and he corked a bat..but i'm saying...he isnt as bad as they were saying on espn..no...not to the extent that the media portrays any sport figure who fucks up but he isnt a model citizen nor will he produce with out the juice...just not the way the o's should be looking in the future... kfitz73
why is espn so down on sosa? i watch someone talk maddd shit about him.......he's not the sosa that hit all those home runs but c'mon....!I didn't see ESPN, but it's probably a combination of:1) Probable juice - Giambi wasn't the only one whose physique shrunk last year but for some reason the media didn't make as big a deal out of it. As a matter of fact you still don't hear too much about Sosa when you talk about steroids in baseball.2) Corked bat...3) Declining numbers and increasing injuries the last 3 years...4) Attitude - Leaving at the start of a game last year, being "insulted" by being dropped to 6th in the order, several run-ins with Dusty Baker & upper management.... vicman
O's suck ass. although they did manage to get Sosa for quite a bargain. Cubs are paying 12 mill. of his salary and he is forgoing 37 million that would be owed to him if he got traded from the Cubs. his contract stipulated that of he got traded his current deal would be extended 1 more year at 18 mill. with a club option of 19 mill. the following season. apparently he is willing to forgoe that part of his contract.O's wont get anywhere in the AL east, maybe reach .500, but like everyone already said, they got no pitching. they couldnt even sign second rate pitchers like loaiza who would have been a good fit since all of their pitchers are extremely young, but at least they got a bat at a bargain price.fuck the O's-lets go Nationals! w00t! globalgroover
they have NO pitching - period.did not go out and slurge in the offseason due to revenue concerns with the nationals playing in d.c.-g.g
