Fabric compilation series

Recommended Posts

In terms of quality music it's probably better than GU. It's just that the DJ's they get aren't as popular as the ones who grace GU. It's definitely different and not for everyone though. I haven't heard the DJ Heather CD so I can't help you there...

dont really like the gu collection with the exception of some songs and certain djs, ike danny t LONDON is beautiful. Hear good things bout the FABRIC series though. But most of my money goes to DEFECTED "in th house" series, as well as AZULI "CHOICE" collections. And of course what ever cd djs/producers i like put out.

Fabric is def. for the more open minded EDM Connoisseur.....

if you like jackin, jazzy, fun luvin house music...then get heathers CD. I havent heard it personally but i've seen her live many times and shes reallllly good. You have to like that Chicago style house though, tough, jackin , jumpy shiet. even goes off the deep end from time to time. over all, good stuff.. :aright:

yeah the fabric cds are a bit more underground so to speak. you could get anything from hiphop, house, or breaks to dnb. always quality mixes though.

ones i'd recomend are:

dj heather

digweed

the 2 craig richards ones

meat katie

andy wetherall

the freestylers

swayzak (my fav of the lot)

jon marsh

jacques luCont

theres 21 fabric's and 21 fabric lives about. some listening.

The Fabric series is great. It reflects the programming of the club itself. Every DJ that has put out a Fabric compilation plays at Fabric regularly. Fabric is the one club in London where you will get broadest diversity of music, except you won't hear much prog, except when Sasha or Digweed are there, and no trance. It's definitely more of an underground sound rather than the generic, monotonous house that many DJs are beating to death.

Personally I like DJ Heather, but not really a fan of her CD.

Look out for Ivan Smagghe's (a/k/a Black Strobe) compilation. He's been one of the most consistently good residents at Fabric the past year.
