StarTac 7780

MCI / Verizon free nights and weekends!

Plus this phone serves as my house phone :-)

AT&T Sucks, Sprint sucks even more. MCI/Bell Atlantic/Verizon is the best service, just make sure you get the good phone too.

Nokia can be okay phone, but not anymore.

Nokia 8860 - great phone (the silver one)

ATT Service - Horrible! 60% of calls get cut off or can barely hear the other party. But when I went to Miami had great service, go figure.

(Want my Verizon service back)

Hm...I've had no problems with my StarTac PCS in NYC. Maybe it's your phone.

im using the nextel system, it's excellent for biz with the two way radio function. works like a normal cell, and also like a walkie talkie covering from all of ma/ct, out to philly, south as far as cape may, east as far as the atlantic

I have MCI... motorolla Vtec... you have to wait a long ass time to get customer service on the line... but for free weekends, nights and free long distance... it rocks.

Got a q for you... if you move and have a one year contract, can you switch your local calling area, will MCI do this? I'm assuming they'll give you a new phone number, but can this be done or will there be penalties out the wazzoo?

When I switched from Rhode Island to NY, there was no penalty, no activation fee or any of that with Verizon, since I stayed with the same plan, and had 3 or so years of their service. Only thing I had to do was start the contract over (8 days before it was up in RI!!) so now I am tied to this phone/service for a few more months. As long as you are just changing areas, and not plans or providers, you should get about the same treatment, I'd expect.
