.....if shooting a guy 5-8 times at point blank range to the head or upper torso is appropriate then ..........OH HAIL THE QUEEN ! ...

how about shooting at someone who's supposedly loaded with TNT running towards a train full of commuters after jumping a barrier, 3 days after 55 people have died...not to say this is not a tragedy, but times are nutz already

the guy was running away , tripped , fell on the ground ....then received 5 to 8 gunshots point blank to the head/upper torso ....

..

...over kill at its essence .

they(scotland yard) showed the same brutal behavior as terrorists; they just have a badge to stand behind. if terrorists can trigger this behavior among supposedly civil and democratic countries, then they are winning the war on terrorism. when you get down to level of your enemy, you become their pawn.

In no way am I trying to justify excess of violence, granted...the first one killed him. The cops that shot him were under stress that goes beyond understanding, these are british cops yelling at a man running towards a boarding train, just days after 55 people lost their lives...when you are under post-traumatic state (like people were in n.y. a day after sept 11) your mind works differently, it's because of a condition known as compassion fatigue...you've seen so much drama unfold before your eyes that a little more is much less of a deal, you loose respect for fear and death...your mind's treshold to compassion raises the bar up a notch, to put it that way...and this happens to everyone that sees it, learns about it later in different levels depending of the sentimental attachment to whatever is attacked or vanished, like in the case of the tsunami...these are mind boggling events to live through...this milenium has kicked humanity in the brain since the get go, who knows what lies ahead...still, nothing will impress us more than sep 11, because you, me and everyone saw what happened and therefore, yes...we are all under a state of compassion fatigue...the stress of caring too much.

alternative scenario: 5 cops yell at that guy and he doesn't stop, he runs and barely makes it onto one of those tube carriages and the whole thing blows up killing 50 more people, including the 5 cops.

there's your script, go shoot the movie.

wanna learn more about compassion fatigue click here (I Google'd it for ya!) you see this face?---> :) typical compassion fatigued bastard, Jonyquest.

sounds like the mindset of terrorist. who is wining the war on terrorism? seems like the terrorists are to me. they can manage to uncoil people; which is the terrorist mindset. the terrorist are fighting a war they know they can win ,the war of the mind. what’s next will we have civilians shooting any muslim looking person, that happens have a long coat on a hot day and is boarding a train??

in a way, you're right...but this war is not so much about losing or winning because the mindset that existed earlier is not there to go back to, ya see? As a civilization we keep advancing and developing this lack of love, consideration and respect for others that represents itself ultimately inflicting pain, suffering and death to random innocents at the moment when they're most vulnerable, commuting to work as part of a mass of people with no identity and away from the comfort of a familiar place and driven with a sense of purpose or commitment or whatever you wanna call it, it makes it even worse to see someone die on their way to serve a duty...it associates the action of commuting to work with the possibility of something terrible happening, a state of passive mass psychosis that's waiting be triggered with a simple scare that resembles that major earlier one that's engraved in all minds for ever.

sparking fireworks at a mass event today in london, not a good idea...same, running away from cops that yell at you to stop.

the goal of the "war on terror" is to stop terrorism.

its funny, my dad just flew on a flight in Israel. The Israeli airport is known to have the toughest security in the world. ( neccessary)

Since they have the toughest security, it is one of the safest in the world.

The guards there ask how you felt about 9/11, and how you feel about the arab/israel conflict. If you're muslim or arab, your gonna get searched and so is your stuff.

Can you imagine if that happened here in the U.S. Holy shit, the liberals would be filing anti defamation suits before the sun would set.

We are sooooo afraid of racial profiling that it is effecting everyone's common sense.

you will NEVER stop terrorism; it’s been around forever. at best you can minimize it. just ask Israel! only searching Muslims and Arabs, shows how stupid Israel is. it was Israeli radicals which killed their prime minster, and continue to cause problems in the Gaza. So Israel has terrorist among their own people.

Racial profiling does not work. terrorist can come from anywhere and look like anyone. perhaps we have forgotten about one of the most brutal terrorist in the world, born and raised in the USA Timothy McVeigh.. Just ask the family of Jean Charles de Menezes R.I.P. (the Brazilian kid murdered by Scotland Yard) if racial profiling works.

Three Words:

Foolish

Naïve

Hostile
