They are trying to ban Hip Hop in Vegas!!! Come help save it

Body: LOCAL ORGANIZATION ADDRESSES BAD RAP ON RAP MUSIC

Feb. 17, 2006--After the tragic events that took place February 1, many critics of hip hop have stepped forward to place the blame on the culture’s broad shoulders. Is the murder of Sgt. Prendes and the subsequent murder of Amir Crump (aka Trajik) the fault of hip hop music?

While hip hop critics around the country have smeared and slandered the culture, the Las Vegas Local Organizing Committee of the National Hip Hop Political Convention invite you to a panel discussion which will challenge current criticism and bring forth an understanding of hip hop culture that’s gone largely unexplored in the coverage today.

If im not mistaken, they are not trying to ban hip hop from Las Vegas all together.. the proposal is to ban HIP HOP Concerts from being held at the Thomas Mack center.. If it was an entirety .. I think alot of the Casinos that are making so much money with the HIP HOP clubs would let their voices be heard and come to the panel. They are the strongest voices out of everyone.

I dont think they would let anything jeopardize their money making mule...

but if this was something else that you were talking about .. let me know

Previous attempts to ban Hiphop in cities by California municipalities have routinely been shot down by courts as unconstitutional (Equal Protection Clause).

Such a simple concept that ignorant people don't (wish to) understand...

Rappers don't shoot people.

Black people don't shoot people.

Bling doesn't shoot people.

Music doesn't shoot people.

Criminals with guns shoot people.

Ban the murderers and stop using their crimes to justify a movement to ban things you dislike or fear.

And politicians, stop using people's fears as a means to further your political career. It will backfire when you try to limit freedoms.
