alexpearce
One of New York's last venues remaining devoted to the underground music scene celebrates its 4th birthday on March 4, 2006, with sets from the internationally renowed DJ The Scumfrog, and local favorites Alex Pearce and Eric Martinez. Critically acclaimed Sullivan Room was just nominated for Club World Award's Nightstalker Award, a people's choice award voted on by clubbers around the world. This is the second year the club has been nominated, winning the award in 2005. An underground legend, Sullivan Room artists have included Richie Hawtin, Christian Smith, Misstress Barbara, The Scumfrog, Hector Romero, Hipp-E, DJ Heather, D:Fuse, John Aquaviva, and Charles Feelgood. The club has an amazing sound system, yet remains an intimate venue that allows DJs to connect with the dancefloor. Sullivan's March 4th lineup promises to continue the underground tradition featuring performances from The Scumfrog, Alex Pearce and Eric Martinez. As a performer, The Scumfrog's stage presence is unlike any other. His widely publicized and much talked about live performances are not limited to mixing records. They include his live vocals, percussion, samples, and occasional guest performances. His colorful live sets and consistently innovative productions are not to be missed. We are excited to see what he brings to Sullivan Room's upcoming anniversary event.SULLIVAN ROOM218 Sullivan St [between Bleeker & West 3rd]212-252-2151www.SullivanRoom.comThe Scumfrog (www.thescumfrog.com)Alex Pearce (Sullivan Room, Movida)Eric Martinez (People NYC)9 pm to 5 am$5 before 11 / $10 with rsvp to lisa@sullivanroom.com9 pm to 10 pm OPEN BAR10 pm to 11 pm 2 for 1 drinkscomplimentary champagne reception

stereolab
What a sick night! Sully has the best vibe/crowd and last night was one of the best Sully parties I've ever been to. The music was awesome! Great job Alex - I loved your set! And as for Scumfrog, it took a bit before he had me going but by the end he was fantastic. That guy is really versatile. He played all sorts of different stuff.
