cornergirl
DAVID JOSEPHS: Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, David left Madison and headed to Chicago where he played Spundae on several occasions, including opening for Armin Van Buuren on one of his first US appearances. In the fall of 2003 David moved back to his hometown of New York City and hit the ground running. David has played at venues including Crobar, BED, Le Souk, Movida, Sullivan Room, Sol and Love. Keeping up the connections to his friends at Spundae, David got the chance to work and play for formed partnership of Spundae and Godskitchen. He's played with Darren Emerson, Max Graham, Grayarea, Kaskade, Heather, Garth and Fred Everything to name a few. In 2005, David joined Proton Radio's "Perceptions" bi-monthly show co-hosted by Boston's Proton resident Dres. Their partnership brought together one of most highly listened to shows on Proton with guests such as Luciano and Lee Burridge. ANDRES ESCALLON: Coming to Boston in 2001 from the lush and fertile valleys of the Colombian mountains, Andres Escallon began his contribution to the local dance scene when he was asked to host a brand new bi-monthly show on what was then, a young "Proton Radio". Little did he know that it'd be his show "Perceptions" that would capture the ears of some of Boston's most influential names and most scrupulous of dance music fans. Forging a path for himself, and joining forces with like minded friends, their efforts were recognized with a residency along with John Debo at Axis's "Square One Thursdays". The next few years he was found frequenting gigs at clubs in Boston and around the country such as RISE, Avalon, Stereobar, Marlin Bar, Sullivan Room and Le Souk, playing alongside such names as Sasha, John Debo, Steve Porter, Lee Burridge, DJ Three, John Graham and Sean Cusick . His recent partnership with DJ/Producer Dan Alcala, Andres hopes to continue to bring new sounds and showcase new names to a community thirsty for fresh and exciting music. His new record label dubbed "Melted Records" is yet another reason that new things continue to shine for this Colombian transplant. DEEPAK SHARMA: If people say you are remembered by your first compilation, then Deepak Sharma has left a lasting impression on the world. De:Bug Magazine, arguably the most respected dance publication calls his debut CD "Boogaloo: Brooklyn", "The best mix compilation we've heard in ages." The accolades don't stop there as he has received worldwide acclaim in magazines such as Raveline, Remix, BPM, URB and DJ Times. Eclectic and subtle, the CD has also garnered strong praise and comparisons to the world‚s best. Big Shot Magazine writes, "Sharma indulges us in some of the most pristine minimal techno we've heard in ages. This is mandatory late-night / morning after listening. Not since Terry Francis' Architecture series has a mix compilation explored the realm of tech-house so well." Since the release of this CD, Deepak has played at some of the world's finest parties and venues including Crobar and Spirit in New York, Emerald City in Philadelphia, On Broadway in San Diego, Avalon in Los Angeles, Stereobar in Montreal, and this Friday night, RISE. Currently, he has set up his own record label, Hidden Recordings and has completed three tracks with his partner in Germany, Dieter Krause. The EP will be out later in 2006.
