drdoom
please explain to me this whole transfers / on loan shit im confusedWell taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loan_%28football%29A loan:In football (soccer), a loan involves a particular player being allowed to temporarily play for a club other than the one he is currently contracted to. Loan deals may last from a few weeks to all season-long.Players may be loaned out to other clubs for several reasons. Most commonly, youth players will be loaned to a club from a lower league in order to gain them valuable first team experience. A club may loan a player if they are short on transfer funds but can still pay wages. Some players are loaned because they are unhappy or in dispute with their current club and no other club wishes to buy them permanently. Examples of this situation include Henri Camara with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Craig Bellamy with Newcastle United. One unusual situation was in 2006, when Samuel Eto'o signed for a one match loan with Al-Ittihad to help ensure they won a cup final. drdoom
A transfer:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfer_marketTransfer MarketThe Transfer Market is a catch-all term used to describe the list of players available for transfer, and also the money moving between clubs. For example a club may be described as having "money to spend on the transfer market" [1], or the market may be described in similar ways to the Stock Market [2]. Chelsea F.C. has had a huge impact on the British transfer market in recent years due to the huge money invested by Roman Abramovich to spend on players. However some believe this is having a negative effect on the market as a whole [3].[edit]Transfer ListIf a player is "put on the transfer list" [4] (a phrase popular in the media), the club who owns the player are stating their intention to sell him. Other clubs are encouraged to bid for the player in an attempt to sign him.[edit]Transfer RequestA player may make a "transfer request" [5]. In this case, the player is publically stating his desire to move, and encouraging other clubs to make an offer for him. Due to the public nature of transfer requests, they may often be used by players to air their grievances in the open, such as frustration over contract negotiations [6] or clash of personality with the manager. Often a player may remove their request if the source of unhappiness is resolved [7]. Alternatively a club can reject a transfer request, effectively stating their intention to reject any offer for their player [8]. In post-Bosman football, the effect of rejecting a transfer request has been weakened, as players can see out their contract and eventually leave for free. Clubs are more inclined to sell the player in order to recoup some money, even if they do not wish to let the player go.

drdoom
please explain to me this whole transfers / on loan shit im confusedNot the best explanation, but at least it is in layman terms. While players can be traded for each other, similar to American sports, the majority of time contracts of players are bought out. For example, when Sir Alex Ferguson and his scouts saw Cristiano Ronaldo play at Sporting Lisbon, he decided to purchase him. However since Ronaldo was already contracted to play for Sporting Lisbon, Man U had to financially compensate the Portuguese team for voiding his contract so they can now sign him They paid around 12 million pounds to secure his services. drdoom
kool so in the situation like TIm Howard who was just put on loan yet MU gonna sign yet another goal keeper that polish dude will they ever just outright sell Howard or keep him throughout the term of theloan/contractI think they will just loan him for now, so he can gain first-team experience. He could be a strong keeper for the future, but he is not going to get any playing time right now w/ Van der Sar in front of him.

Trezeguet, Buffoon, Emerson and Vieira all will most likely take off as well.i've read the same thing but i dunno. if they go to serie b, they will probably be back in serie a next year. they could loan them or i wouldn't be surprised if some of them just stayed with the club for 1 year in serie b. its not like juventus, even in serie b, wouldnt be able to come up with the $$$ to pay their salaries.if they go to serie c, i would suspect most of them would leave. 2 years is a long time to spend in the wilderness. vicman
Juve, Lazio and Fiorentina relegatedJuventus, Lazio, and Fiorentina have been relegated from Serie A as a result of the match-fixing scandal. AC Milan have avoided relegation, but will start next season with a 15-point deficit, and have had 44 points taken from their tally for the 2005-06 season. Juventus have been stripped of their Serie A titles for each of the last two seasons. They will start next campaign with a 30-point deficit. Fiorentina will start in Serie B with a 12-point deficit and Lazio a seven-point deficit. The rulings mean that none of the four clubs will be allowed to play in Europe next season. In addition to the punishments handed to the clubs, a number of the individual directors were suspended. Former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi has been suspended from all football for five years. Adriano Galliani, who was AC Milan vice-president, has been suspended for one year. The four clubs will have up to three days to appeal to the Federal Court but a final verdict has to be announced before July 25, when the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) must give UEFA, Europe's football governing body, the list of teams that will compete in the continental club competitions in the 2006/07 campaign. The scandal was uncovered as a result of a criminal investigation that was launched before the start of the 2004/05 campaign by the Naples prosecutors' office. Telephone conversations between Moggi and a referees supremo in charge of the appointments of officials during the 2004/05 season were tapped. Prosecutors based their probe on hundreds of bugged telephone calls between referee selectors, game officials and Moggi. At the close of trading on Milan's stock exchange on Friday, Lazio shares had dropped 9.68% to 0.28 euros while Juventus went down to 1.45 euros - a fall of 1.15%. An estimated 500 Lazio fans protested outside Rome's Parco dei Principi hotel as Federal Appeal Commission president Cesare Ruperto read out the verdicts inside. More than 300 Fiorentina fans met up outside the Artemio Franchi stadium as a sign of protest but it was a different story in Turin with few Juventus supporters turning up at the club's headquarters in Via Galileo Ferraris. ************with a -30 start to their season, that virtually guarantees they will be in serie b for 2 years. vicman
its gonna be interesting to see what juventus do. first reaction would be that a lot of players will be sold, but juventus will virtually need to have a championship-type season just to NOT get relegated to serie c next year. a start with -30 points while virtually burying any real possibilities of making it back to serie a next season also puts the team in a real danger of getting relegated to serie c next year. juventus has the $ to keep on paying these players. Man U is in the red big time since the loan the Glazers took to buy the team is on Man U's books. They just refinanced their debt this week cutting interest payments on it from 90million pounds a year to 60 million.whomever Chelsea wants these days, Chelsea gets - hands down richest team in the world - but no real winning tradition up until the last 5-10 years. Abramovich could buy all the EPL if he wanted to.
