The creator of the "Boompty" Tech House sound and co-founder of Classic records, Derrick Carter is one of the biggest names in house music. Born & raised in the western suburbs of Chicago he brings that energy that Chicago house DJs are known for. If you ask any DJ with that "Chicago" sound, who inspires them, not one would leave Derrick Carter off their list. Although he doesn't spin in Chicago too much any more, wherever Derrick Carter DJs, big crowds follow. Derrick Carter never plays in intimate venues like focus and we are excited to be able to make it happen. He headlined the house bill for the most recent How Sweet It Is and it sold out 2 days before the event (6,000 Tickets). We will be opening up the entire club & bringing in extra security & bar tenders. There will be no tables on the dance floor so there will be plenty of room to move around. deepfunk Posted April 16 Report Share Posted April 16 yep yep!!this one's gonna go off! focus brings it right! can't say enough good stuff about this party! great bookings (look at the line up, oh and they've got olivier desment this week too! i'll be there)make sure to get your tix pre-sale and make sure to get there early. the place will be packed and will sell out.i haven't seen derrick in such an intimate setting in many, many years. and they've got my favorite local dj these days as one of their residents - wobs!! jose (nonfiction) is awesome as well!
