We are doing the Focus Dance Competition this Tuesday. This night is all about showcasing the amazing dancers that call focus home. This is the ONLY House Music Dance Competition and you are what make it great. I'm going to make sure everybody gets a Focus T-Shirt just for signing up and giving it a shot. Plus we are working with some sponsors to try and have awesome prizes and at least $300 in cash to give away. We would love to have you sign up and be a part of it this year. We are going to put a lot of work into this one to make sure it's the best one yet. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them. Also if you know any other dancers that would be down to dance please forward this email along to them. There are 3 categories for this: Breaking, Popping & Freestyle. Freestyle. Reply to this email (info@focus-oc.com) with your name (or alias you go by) and which category you'd like to sign up in. make sure you are at the club by 10:30 PM at the latest so we can make sure everybody is there and if there are any no shows we can give the spots to anybody who may have signed up @ the door. The creator of the "Boompty" Tech House sound and co-founder of Classic records, Derrick Carter is one of the biggest names in house music. Born & raised in the western suburbs of Chicago he brings that energy that Chicago house DJs are known for. We have Garth (Grayhound Records / SF) coming down JUST for focus! He hasn't played down here in the longest time and it's going to be a great night. We had Garth play at focus about a year ago and it was a memorable night to say the least. Garth is on tour promoting his new CD "Unleash the Hound" and if you haven't heard it yet you gotta pick it up. He's coming in with the 12 Tribes Live Percussion Ensemble. There will be 5-6 drummers banging out the beats live over his DJ set and it should add a HUGE amount of atmosphere to the dance floor. I'm really excited to see what they can bring to Focus and it's their first appearance at focus so it should be a great show. This Tuesday we have none other than the man himself Sir Piers coming back to focus this Tuesday. He has produced some of the biggest hits in house music history. He's coming straight off his tour from Canada to focus and then heading to SF to play Miguel Migs' club "Salted." We are blessed to have him play at our club. This night should be a "no VIP night" but we really want you guys to be able to experience Sir Piers so we are making it affordable an accessible to everyone. Opening up for Sir Piers is Deep / Gravy's very own Big Cee! We love having Big Cee at the club and I'm sure if you know Big Cee you love him too!
