Everybody loves a good fight. There's none better than a duel between Chicago's Siteholder Records versus San Francisco's Auralism. This week, we bring you a rare live PA by Coalition of the Killing, along with local favorites Daniel Mnookin and Brian Ffar. Opening the night is AMP's very own Diskokitty.

COALITION OF THE KILLING [Auralism, San Francisco]

Auralism Records was founded in spring 2006 by Jason Short and Marc Smith. The two met in Jacksonville Florida in 1999 and shortly after, began producing and releasing various styles of electronic music under the names Sattva, Biogenesis (with Chris Havens), and Groove Element (Marc and Chris).

After a few relocations, and some major changes in the world of Electronic music, Marc and Jason relinked once again in Miami in early 2003, and Coalition of the Killing was conceived. After the urging from a successful figure in the industry, Jason and Marc started out on their own and Auralism Records was born. The two have now relocated to San Francisco, and have been working hard to build momentum, throwing amazing parties with Funkycozy, and making relationships with an array of amazing artists.

Auralism is now made up of a dynamic core of artists from across the country...amazing individuals, and top-notch electronic music producers.

Auralism Records is about the music: Forward-thinking, twisted, deep electronic and electro-acoustic music with acute attention to sound-design, groove, and musical integrity, moving ahead; leaving tired, regurgitated ideas behind and making something new, building a community where the artists can thrive and achieve their fullest creative potential, organizing cutting-edge, multimedia events, creating a long-lasting organization of individuals from very different backgrounds, working together for mutual success.

DANIEL MNOOKIN & BRIAN FFAR [siteholder, Proton Radio]

Siteholder Records is the brainchild of Chicago natives Billy Dalessandro, Brian Ffar, and Daniel Mnookin. Residing in the city that gave house music its name, Siteholder strives to combine the various elements of modern techno with the jackin rhythms that put their hometown on the electronic music map. Siteholder releases command you to get out of your chair, charge the dance floor, and get down to some serious beats.

Following the success of Siteholder Records, the Chicago based trio of Billy Dalessandro, Brian Ffar, and Daniel Mnookin turn things up a notch with Siteholder UnCut – a digital sub-label currently sold exclusively through Beatport. Featuring the edgier side of techno that initially established the roots for modern day tech house and minimal techno, expect a riskier sound from a wider range of artists (both well known and up and coming) that is bound to please both one’s aural senses as well as a packed dance floor. If Siteholder is any indication of what these Chicago natives have to offer the electronic music global community, UnCut will only serve to further establish a well rounded foundation of serious beats combined with heady intoxication.

DISKOKITTY [AMP, Intergruv, Silent T]

Diskokitty, also known as Margot Rudy hails from Chicago. At age 4 she was put in classical piano lessons as she realized music quenched a powerful thirst within her. Diskokitty was exposed to dance music as a young child. As soon as she went to college she bought her first turntables and mixer and started practicing and brainstorming different concepts and sounds.

Since then, Diskokitty has held several residencies, hosted her own events and weeklies, spun in many states, as well as Mexico and Canada. DK spins regularly at Chicago's hottest night clubs, is featured on both eradiox.com and friskyradio.com and she also makes regular appearances on Chicago public radio: WNUR. Diskokitty is open to all types of events and all types of music. She can be found spinning anything from amen jungle in a dark rave to an eclectic trip hop mix at an art show, to throwing down a house set in a night club or lounge.

Diskokitty's next move is production. In the near future, she plans on releasing a collection of tunes of genres including: house, trip hop, funk, and drum and bass. These will include her own lyrics and vocals.

I'm totally unfamiliar with these guys but I'm gonna take a look at their credentials and see if this is worth flying the whole way from Washington, DC for.

Okay - so I lie. I'm not going to leave Washington but I am going to look these guys up!
