DJs and sound guys.. HELP NEEDED!!

Recommended Posts

Hello to all the DJs and guys involved with sound systems and the like.

I need a CD or something that I can use to test a sound system. To see what it can handle. Is there such a thing. If not what is the best way to test a club's sound system?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!!

well he wanted something to test what a sound system "can handle", that usually refers to bass. Of course theres more to the system then bass. But I've never heard of a tweeter blowing out.

As you can probally see I do not know a ton about sound systems smile.gif

What I am looking for is a way to find out the overall quaility of a system. What other things besides bass need to be tested and how would I go about doing that.

the best way to test a sound system, especially if you want to tweak it with eq, speaker positioning, etc. is to use a good quality recording that you know well. i always use the Massive Attack single, "Angel," on heavy-guage 12". it has incredible sounding bass, full orcestra range, and i have heard it many times on a properly set up system.

better yet, get a variety of tracks. i use "angel" as well as something more electronic like the Chemical Bros or something.

i love music!

There is a sound test CD out there. To tell you the truth the best thing to test sound is a C&C Music Factory record, like Shake That Body, Gonna Make you sweat. Columbia records is real good with thier recording and C&C back in the day were the same. I garuantee any C&C record will do.

It's all in the music
