This LA-based group is absolutely fabulous. For those of you in LA who missed their show in Westwood last week, you REALLY missed out. And for those of you who were there, you KNOW what I mean about the BEP vibe. They're all about positivity, something that is seldom seen in hip-hop today. Also, they are doing a college tour this fall for anyone who is interested. AND, they just released their second CD last week. In addition to my west coast boyz BEP,I am a fan of De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest (too bad they broke up), The Roots, and Outkast. Check out the posting for the OK Player tour, in addition to BEP's upcoming tour. I also like many other different types of music, but I was thinking your question referred to hip-hop.
