weyes
planning a group event that involves staying overnight (or many nights) away from home at an assigned location, such as a company retreat, a family reunion, or a destination wedding is a difficult task. key to the success of these happenings is everyone's comfort at the chosen lodging.unless everyone has been consulted and has agreed to less (even a group of camping enthusiasts may not wish to go camping for a celebratory event), the following are some basic conditions that any place where a group of people are required to sleep must meet:four walls, a floor, and a ceiling. roughing it is not for everyone.indoor plumbing. that means that a toilet, sink, and shower are expected to be in the same building as the guests' beds.no "rules" against reasonable things. places that demand that guests do not use phones or laptops keep people from doing what may be important work, making and receiving what may be essential calls, and basically remaining in touch with the outside world. when a place assumes that its guests' private lives aren't important, it goes beyond presumptuous and into insulting.a way for people to leave the premises/not leaving people trapped at the location. while these events are about coming together as a group, no one wants to be stuck with the same people for over 24 hours. even the tightest-knit of folks need to get away from all the commotion - and each other - and unwind.tune in tomorrow.
