Guest basicnyc
Hi,We're looking to rent a sound system for a two-day event at the WMC.We dont need anything monstrous -- just good DJ gear (mixer, decks, amps, speakers) and clean, powerful sound. If anyone has any suggestions, please let us know. We're trying to avoid dealing with a "pro" production company. Ideally we'd like to hire an independent guy with his own rig.Thanks.PM or leave any info here

Guest pod
Well, most of the "guys with their own rigs" tend to just have crap for equipment...you're more than likely going to have to go through a professional sound and lighting company for anything decent...The prices tend to be good, check out the following...www.goinfinite.com www.mastersoundpro.comwww.conceptentertainment.comwww.tmsound.com (has UREI 1620s)Paradise Sound - 305-634-3117 ask for Carlos Menendez.Beachsound 305-944-8222Book now, otherwise, you'll be stuck with their C-level rigs.Basically, shoot for an EAW or a NEXO rig...if they try to foist anything else on ya, don't fall for it...most of the JBL rigs in town are old as dirt, and are that way, since most of the contractors in town have gone on to EAW and NEXO rigs... Guest pod
True! Nick does fantastic work...he often subcontracts his work out to the smaller firms though, especially during WMC
Guest ogmiami
Forget the rest...call Paradise Sound. Carlos, (whos last name is Henao, by the way POD), has done these types of jobs for me for the last eight years and has never let me down. His gear is mostly EAW and is kept in great shape for rental gear.
